Nokia Dbox2

When you scanned did you have bouquets at "leave current"?

 

i have had a nokia dbox2 working perfectly for last year but a few weeks ago i lost all channels. i have tried reflashing image(sporster1.10) with new nagraroms but nothing. the dbox wont even pick up the correct time. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

quote me if im wrong but i have experianced this now on 3 boxes the last week (chanel not avail)!!! on my mates boxes they work fine then all of a sudden there off ?? i reflashed them with the same image they had origanly in my house so its the same image i use but still channel not avail how can that be when the image is set for my location etc and never had a prob before... were all in the same area???....my quote is vm are upto something??....AGAIN?

 

help. i cant get my dbox back working after weeks of trying. last night i got a working dbox from same area backed up image to my computer and ftp to my dbox. still no joy. i get a list of channels but no epg info, incorrect time and a blank screen saying ' this channel is not available'. is this a sure sign the box is knackered? any help would be really greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!

I see that you that have heard of the same problem that a friend of mine is havin. There is about 5 of my friends have the same image but just last week one of the boxes stopped wrkin. He tried to re-scan but its sayin channels not found?? All other boxes are wrking fine. I think aswell that VM could be up to somthing?? (well frm wat im ready) What u think? B4 i start reflashing with same or different image do you have any ideas whats happening here or anybody else out there? Mayb this is the start of somthing messy??

 

hi im not sure whats going on!! but if i back an image up etc from my box in my house then flash that to another box it will come back on exact same as mine !!! but its not just channels not avail....

also iv just started to notice when my box is on stand by (big clock) come to it in the morning its back on n turned over to baby tv....iv checked with the council no kids have past away in my house??lol... so its not that whats changing the tv over n turning it back on, also sat there watching the tv it ll just turn off and reboot, this is also happening to some1 i know?? any ideas

 

god nos mate. Iv just never heard of the boxes reacting in this way b4? But in sayin that i scratch my head alot when it comes to problems wit the boxs an its only the whole lot of us on here wrking 2gether that helps me out. Iv never been able to FTp any amage on2 a box, i have always went through the bk door with a C.Over cable and loaded the image that way. All channel lists included ofcourse. lol.(so i dnt think iv ever bk up an image)

 

when using ifa it always backs the image up c/program files/dboxifa/backups so all the images you have used will be in there that it has taken off the box you have flashed, ftp is simple few steps to take there are plenty of guides on here that i have put up myself memory serves me correct i think page 167 of this thread

 

Thanks Turner, It would be gd to be able to do that on own my instead of depending on a image that has all the extras already added. Personally do u not think that it is easier to just use the IFA with a cross over cable? Iv just went on2 Youtube to watch wat i think is ur Vid and im thinking it looks hard. (Can i just say great work with that vid, looks top class and thank you frm me and the rest of the Dbox users!!!!)
I know that u r able to transfer files into certain areas of the boxes HD but is that the only major difference??

 

Hi thanks for the kind words about my vid on utube....im going to do a few more on setting up ftp and flashing an image using the dbox....im working on it and it will be released in both xp and vista so yea it will take a while but it will happen soon n when it does it will be posted on the net for all to enjoy....ftp enables you to drop files ie bouquets services so channel scan is not needed when new image is loaded just makes life easy....

Thanks to this forum, for the past few months, I have been updating the codes on my Nokia DBox using the (formerly) Bigmaq toolbar.
For the last few days though, after losing most channels except for the terrestrial ones, no new codes have been updated.
I'm in Plymouth, and it's ex Telewest if that helps.
I'm now beginning to wonder if its something else as my neighbour's is still up and running.
Can anyone give me any help please!

i posted a few threads back saying i have no epg, no time or no channels. i am almost positive i have a working image on the box. after a discussion with scouser he seemed to think it was a tuner problem. I am not doubting scouserbut i was just wondering if anybody else had similar problems and got box back working? i just want to double check before i send the dbox2 to the bin. thanks

hi there newbie here i am trying for the first time to flash my dbox 2 i have clicked connect on flashfxp then quick connect now i have 4 boxes to fill in server or user, user name, password and remote path what do i put in? And how do you check to see if you have one chip or 2?
any help would be great!

 

Use flashcheck to check if 1x or 2x, you will find this and guides in Eamos at the bottom of my post.

Just going to through this out again to see if anybody has any ideas or quick fixes. Got a dbox which is new enough that wont pick any channels, it did b4 but last sat it stopped. Is there away of pin pointing the problem if i have reflashed the image. Would it also makea difference if i FTP the services and bouquets over?

 

well turner ..i did have a sagem sat dbox that was the same .i notice it would reboot quit often when i had it in a telly cabinet with class front .never turned it off ...but when i moved it out side it would run all day without reboot sometimes .they do get verry hot .so i just put a computer fan on the inside top lid somewere nr power suply blowing out or with the sagem in the middle .so you dont want anything on top of it hi ..or as i did with my outher one just cut out the back nr the powersupply to the left at the back of the sagem box and fitted small 12v fan ..you can find 12volts from somewere on the board our powersupply just test with meter to find point to solder to. you can also put in small toggle switch to turn it of if you want ...and they ran much cooler with out reboot for long time back in the cabinet ..well worth a try eh.. i dont use them much these days ...as i am now playin with the ... OPENMEDIA 500cs box with 2 tuners and chips for cable and sat .. nice little box but this also gets verry hot and dont have a lot off air vents so before long i will be putting fan in also i bet into this box hi .but no probs as yet hi ..hope this is of use to someone ....
