ok now im confused lol whats the difference between a crossover and a normal ethernet cable!!! but surely it should still work with the null on its own not with the crossover????

confused.com iam!!!!!

 

I had problems using ifa and a rs232 cable, but no problems with xover cable, a normal ethernet cable is different from a cross over cable, if you google it you'll get more info about the 2.

 

Hello everyone.
I'm sure that this has been answered in the past but all the messages that I have found related are years old.
I have a Nokia Dbox2 (2x intel). Came with the German image and I couldn't even change the language (don;t know what image was on it but there were no settings as suggested in the forum to change language etc).
So I used the latest IFA software and the uk-virgin-neutrino-jffs2-2x.
the flashing went ok, very smooth etc and when I rebooted in fact I had a different screen and in English.
After that I could change the network ans specify the new address that I wanted, so I managed to install via FTP then the service.xml and the bouquets.xml.
rebooted and first error was "no ucodes"
So I start reading and only then I realized that I need this codes.
Now I'm not sure what to do as I am searching in the linux for everything but I can't find any of them.
Is there a way to recover?
Am I using a wrong image? all the Sporster that I found are all password protected (the RAR file).

Help!!! anyone???

if you look back in this thread you will find plenty of images, and the talk in here is nt years old there has been a massive amount to talk about images setting dbox...ucodes keys roms etc etc etc, look on here for links in ppls signitures (4shared) and you ll find an image with everything added in for you so no work just flash it on your box.....simple as A B C

 

a crossover cable is similar to an ethernet cable but a couple of wires are reversed on it. i paid a pound for 1 in my local computer shop were they had to make it up for me.

what I meant about ucodes and old messages is, that if you search for ucodes the messages are from 2006 to 2007. Anyway is not important. I'll search again and keep reading.
if you know the name of the image that I should use and that has everything can you PM me please?? as there are so many and I don't know the difference between them. Some of them have password as well to be extracted etc.

Hi i just did a search (1 page back) rite at the top of that page is a member called ....SCOUCER.... in the 4shared he has like 30 images to choose from....but one stands out from the croud is the virgin+lite FTA yes free to air channels only but if you read the read me for the image all will be reveled, its by far the best image i have used

 

Meant to take it with me today and forgot! looks like I'll be without footy all weekend Just have to go to the pub
I've explained to him exactly what I'm doing and he can't understand why its not working - just hope he can fix it.

It works perfectly, lots of channel and radio.

Hi Turner That image by AL, (I have also added one for N** Dublin), I have already added a few things, so should work straight away. Fixed a few channel logos to match N** Dublin and also fixed the Net ID for Dublin, as it was incorrect. AL knows about this now and all future SMLs will be fixed at the correct Net ID for 291000.

 

Hi scoucer, cheers for the heads up....Al has done a cracking job on this image, for some reason i dont have the itv logo? but suppose its a regional thing going on there

 

downloaded and put on my box that virgin lite image what an image very good looking but 1 thing cant get ne channels im an ex tw in essex please help as i really wnat this image!!!!!!

Almost forgot- I deleted evocamd (150kb), mgcamd (149kb) and gbox (285kb) out of /var/bin/emu/ - where you'll find camd2 (which is needed for gbox to work in this image).
I also deleted nagrarom7.bin (16kb- 12/04/08) nagraram7.bin (1kb) and nagraepr7.bin (4kb) from the /var/keys/ folder. These three files are the ONLY files missing in there- symlinks handle the rest of the functions- (so don't go and delete them please!)
These would be the ONLY files needed..........and these files are in scoucers.....signiture.....once all these files are over there change the chmod 755 ;-)

My box has just frozen and now I have no channels I have rescanned on 6952 & 6887 but still not picking up anything I have unplugged and restarted but stil nothing please can anyone help me
