You can use IFA without a null modem cable and just a crossover cable just click no null modem. What Turner was doing was using Kein system as an example to flash via wireless, but you can also flash via wireless or FTP.

 

i've just attempted the wireless way. i checked his video, and it wont detect my box it just boots up as lacky pro.

i will try the normal IFA way now, without the null modem cable.

is a crossover cable a ethernet cable?

A crossover cable is an ethernet cable but it is crossed over at pins 1,2,3 & 6. If you have a standard Cat5E straight through cable it wont work unless you are going via a router.

The wireless way will work if your Dbox and PC are connected via a router and configured as per Turner's tut.

 

when i attempted the wireless way this is what i did:

1. from my router to my dbox via ethernet

2. opened IFA
- selected wireless card
- selected my image (virgin 2.1 2x)
- clicked no to have you got a null modem cable
- clicked start, then ok to the pop up box.

3. booted my dbox up

from here, the program doesnt read the dbox. therefor the flashing process wont budge. any ideas?

 

Have you disabled all other LAN connections? Is your Dbox connected to the router with a straight through Cat5E ethernet lead?

If you have a crossover Cat5e lead its much easier just to use FTP or IFA to flash an image.

This is the best read i have had in a very long time pmsl "How would i get my dbox2 into kein system mode?" we normally help ppl get out of kein system now they want to get into it thas top stuff..that tut like scouse said is just me proving a point...as for it not picking up the box ram the plug in and out of the wall socket....

No you dont Turner get back here, it was you who started this wireless flash process. Now you have to answer for it

 

haha, yeah i understand the kein thing, i know you dont wanna be in it, but i thought the only way to do the wireless method was to get into it.

silly me i suppose...

but i think i understand what to do now, i never disabled the other connections (i jumped in head first)

i can see your doing a great job here scouser lol...on a serious not follow the video and you shud be ok failing that like scouse said flash via ftp again you can do that wireless also

Wondered if someone could please help.
I scanned today for Sky 1,2 etc with no luck. Not only did it not find them, I actually lost about a quarter of my channels.
Any advice appreciated.
I've got a dbox 2 with V++ 3.2.

is your area set?
have you tried with fast scan off?

Yes, set my location, fast scan is off.
Ironically, the channels I scanned for have appeared under 'new channels' in the last hour or so.
I still have lost a load of other channels, like channel 4, bbc 3, mtv, a few kids ones, as I said around a quarter altogether.
I could kick myself, if I had just waited they may have appeared anyway!!

Hi guys I wonder if anyone can help? I originally installed bruteforce into my dbox, after about 2 scans it then turns itself into kabel deutchland or something along those lines. service scanning just does not work anyone and would like to recieve the sky channels again. Been that long since i've done anything with this box I cant remember how to do it? any help would be great!!

hey guys scanned my box for sky1 and rest. Got all of em, but i also got a channel called SECURITY FRAUD MESSAGE, should we be worried, is anyone else got this.

I'm a wuss lol.
