I have norton ghost and I saved a restore point of my computer on a different partition (we will call this partition D:) than my windows Installation (we will call that partition C:) So I want to know, if I get a virus, when I use system restore, will it format drive C: and restore the the recovery point or will it just restore to the recovery point and not format thus the virus does not get deleted? So mainly, my question is that will the virus or rootkit or spyware go away when I restore the computer with Norton Ghost.

The virus will vanish if it infected the system after the restore point was created.
