I am using an Iomega dvd writer and a generic dvd rom. I am also using Compusa DVD+R's. By the way I was using a friends computer cause I don't have a DVD writer yet. But I will have one within the next month for sure.

I plan on buying an external writer. What DVD Writer do you guys recommend for backing up my movies and PS2 games?

i have an HP 300i that i installed about 4 or 5 months ago and it works beautifully. i've burned TONS of discs with it. CompUSA dvds suck. Imation discs suck even more. try Ritek dvds, they aren't even more expensive. i learned my lesson with crappy discs already. visit these forums often and just keep reading. you'll learn a lot.
