My bad .. Johnny U did play in Super Bowl III .. but by the time he came into the game, Morrall had gone 6-17 with 3 interceptions and even God himself would have had a tough time doing anything about the outcome ...

The Falcons were 4 quaters from the Super Bowl 1 year ago. Do you guys know what the difference in that team and this past years team. Defense. The team that went to the conference championship game played not your jock strap off d. The team from this past year couldn't stop a pissed of pack of sissy's. Look up the stats. Vick had the same numbers almost both years. The only difference was the Defense.

There is one big difference between the Qb's you mentioned and Vick.
All of those you mentioned were capable of hitting and open receiver when the situation dictated...The Falcons have had decent receivers, how do they stack up as far as stats go??
You can get a long way with a good running game, but sooner or later the ball has to be put in the air.

Yep...its sad aint it....Schaub is the only one that shows me the ability to read defenses and PASS the ball, and hit receivers, not take off and run.

When you sell the farm, and all the outbuildings, and the wife, for a QB you would think that it would be a QB that is better than one that is asked to "just not lose the game"

Schuab will either eventually take over for Vick or get traded and have a decent career....Vick on the other hand.......HYPE

My 2 Favorite NFL teams are the Falcons and Chargers.

I think the Falcons definatly have a shot at the superbowl this year. They're starting defense should all be back in place and healthy that was the biggest problem for them last year to many defensive players injured. Yeah I know vick is a big question mark in everyone's head but he is still the most interesting player to watch in all of the NFL and has a very strong arm although his passing decisions are ????. Falcons are to stacked on offense not to be a contender. 3 of the best running backs in the game. Vick, Dunn, Duckett. Pro bowler Alge Crumpler at TE. They could definatly use some better recievers but roddy white is showing progress. It will be interesting to see who they take in the draft even though they don't have a pick until second round traded it to denver I think.

Chargers are ????? this year because no one really knows how good Phillip Rivers is going to be. I personally think he will be great, and sort of glad to see the saints get drew brees because I sort of like the saints.

I can't wait for this year's madden to come out, I already have it preordered. Look at all the rookies who are going to be in once the draft is done. Vince Young, Reggie Bush, Matt Leinheart, Cody Hodges, etc etc etc.

But I'm really waiting for the NCAA football game. Nebraska is going to be stacked and can't wait to mow through people with them online. We have our starting TE back in shape and healthy. Hopefully our Defense is all healthy again. and Taylor coming off what is perhaps his best 3 games of his career. GO HUSKERS!!!!!!!!

Also would like to add. Huskers are going to go to USC third game of the year and annilate them. USC sucks and you can't spell sucks without USC.

Also, anyong have any predictions if any on where Marcus Vick will end up in the NFL.

LOL I like V Tech, and liked marcus even though he had his head up his ass in the miami game. Seems to have his head up his ass the entire time off the field as well. If he could pull it out he could be good.

Most hated teams in the NFL. Dallas - especially now that they have T.O.
    and Denver

Most hated college teams. OklaHOMO, Kansas, USC, and any teams hailing from florida.

[bold]I really am not arguing your statement as to who the best QB in league was...that is up for us to debate....some could make a case for Montana,Unitas,Graham,Elway etc...the list goes on...........[/bold]

    Why haven't I seen Marino's name mentioned??

Probably in prison and his cell mate will be Maurice Clarett! LOL

    Dan Marino?

    One man team.
    The Killers B's!!! LOL

    A man without a defense.

The Killer Bee's were before Marino.

You must admit, hell of a QB. Just think what he could have been with a running game and defense!

Tom Brady,Peyton Manning,Trent Green,Donavan McNabb,Matt Hastleback....if Vick is the one to compare to, the list is much longer.

Marino put up some big numbers but was hamstrung by his supporting cast as saugmon stated.

[bold]Anyone think that the Culpepper addition will change the outcome for the Dolphins? [/bold]

I think the Culpepper deal was a steal! (2nd round draft pick)

A improvement over last years QB. Only question is will he be ready to play by opening day.

Montana is sitl the best! LOL

But, How many superbowls has Dan Marino won?
    Exactly! lol

Dan Marino never won a Super Bowl, as you know.

Just because that didn't happen, doesn't mean he wasn't a great QB. He never had the supporting cast that Montana had. So that should be blamed on him and diminish what he was able to accomplish without support?

    @ JimDandy
Out of all the QB's you named only one has a Super Bowl ring, also it took two of them (Peyton Manning & Matt Hastleback) until this year to make it to conference championship game. Vick has all ready been there. You sound as if your are jealous of the fame Vick has received. You are right he is not the most accurate QB and he probably never will be. All he does is win games at 70 percent clip. I thought that is what you measure a QB by. WINS. The falcons receiver are not decent they have been terrible. Hopefully they will be better this season. If Vick couldn't read a defense and find the open receiver Alge Crumpler would not be a Pro Bowl TE. Why throw the ball to a receiver who is going to drop it. I'm a Falcons season ticket holder for 20+years not a ESPN watcher of them. This opinion of Vick is getting tired and worn. All he does is WIN. This year was the first year he has not lead his team to the playoffs when he started a majority of the games. You need to get your facts straight.

Sorry if I struck a nerve, you can continue living in denial.
You can't actually in your wildest dreams, think that Vick belongs in the category of Manning,Brady,Green,McNabb,Hasselback etc..these are all QB's,not runners that operate under the false pretense of QB's!
I dont base my idea of a good QB as someone that has won superbowls,if you are talking about GREAT QB's then thats a different story.
You said yourself that all he had to do is not lose games....is that something you expect from a QB that you traded off several draft picks and a few warm bodies for?? If you really believe that Vick was a better pick then LT,then that tells me about all I have to know about your level of expertise.

What is Vick going to do after he gets injured on one of his highlight reel type runs and blows out a knee, and he has to rely on his arm??....uhh huh I thought so.

Vick relies on Crumpler because he is the saftey valve, or outlet receiver, the guy he dumps off to when he cant read the defense enough to find the open WR, which explains why Crumpler is such a threat. Is it that you have bad receivers now???...lets think about that one for a bit....I seem to recall you drafting a guy number one recently and what was the deal with Peerless Price...they cant all stink can they?

You found me out though,Im jealous LMAO ;)

There is no need to resort to personal attacks just because you dont agree with my opinion.

You live in the Atlanta area, and you watch the games live.Does that make you more knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the game?? I dont think so.I have been watching games for alot longer than 20 years.Ive seen some live, and Ive seen many on T.V. I also happened to have played in high school and college.

Sitting there next to your computer, you have no idea what this person, or that person, does, or does not know, and you shouldnt pretend that you do.

If your skin is too thin to take a little objective criticism,or even a difference of opinion you are posting in the wrong forum.
