I recently received an old HP Vectra VL running MS Windows 98. the computer i'm using now could use a ram upgrade, and i got the idea that i could take some ram from the HP and put it in this one. would that be possible? i'm looking for about 256 MB of ram.

That will not be posible as:

You will probably not be able to re use the ram as that is an old computer into a new computer. What does your current mobo take?

Also they only come with 32mb/64mb of ram so getting 256mb is out the question.
