    Download the Firmware here, http://www.4shared.com/file/47317204/32ddc1d1/EV2_FIX_140408.html

Then you need the Loader which is here,
    http://www.4shared.com/file/25134276/e7df7311/DnUpMan_DVBC_FAV8_20060314.html

Connect your box to your PC,

If you want to save your channel data in the channel data section of the loader click on browse, Locate where you want to save it then click UPLOAD.

Then to flash the box click on Browse, Locate the firmware which you downloaded onto your PC then select and ok, Then hit the Download button, Simple.

If you have any connection problems click on the eurovox flashing guide under my picture info is in there.

hi hiteck. still having problems mate.took the box up to me dad's. stil had all the files saved on his laptop. my old box is slightly different from his ev2 though. his 9pin port is female and mine is male. i bought a mini gender changer and fitted this. i can now connect my box to his laptop.when i click on download the screen flicks between com3 and 4. when i click on start it tells me the receiver was not detected. it says below this if you want to download the firmware in boot mode click the ok button below and AC power on your receiver.when i do this it says 'waiting for the responce of your receiver. this is as far as it will go. any ideas?

These are the cables you will need,

If you have a computer or a laptop with a 9 pin serial com Male socket all you will need is this,

Female to Female Serial Null Modem Cable which looks like this,

    Or this,

Make sure you do not buy just a Serial RS232 9-Pin Female to Female cable , they seems to be quite a few people buying these from mapl*ns, and they look the same!

If you have a computer or laptop without a 9 pin serial socket you will still need the Female to Female Serial Null Modem Cable as above and this USB to Serial DB9 Adaptor Converter to make it fit into your USB port which loooks like this. You will need to install the Driver that came along with the cable adaptor, If you dont have the Driver you may be able to get yours HERE.

If you have a pc and you are struggling with the usb adapter as above you could add a PCI serial card which is easily added to you PC and with this all you need is the null modem cable which gives you a direct link from your box to the pc.

You must make sure your particular software is looking on the correct port for it to transfer any data.

    Go to the Start Menu
    Right click on "My Computer"
    Select "Properties"
    Click on the "Hardware" tab
    Click on "Device Manager"
Click the + sign next to "Ports (COM & LPT)"
right click the com port it is using and then click properties, select "Port settings" you can then change the com number to either 3 or 4 to match the where the loader is looking.

You should be able to transfer data once the correct com is selected

Hi, I'm having the same problem here. I tried to do all the flashing and firmware stuff for my black Euro-Vox Max, its got a grey front plate with 6 rows of 24 vents on top btw. I got the null modem cable yesterday and downloaded what I believe to be the correct firmware and DnUpMan programe to do the job. After I clicked "Down load" on the DnUpMan it went through 100% of the download and then another, say 80 seconds, then a failure message popped up and now my box wont even power up. All I've got is 4 little dashes on the front pannel. But when I try to do it again and click on start it tells me the receiver was not detected. it says below this if you want to download the firmware in boot mode click the ok button below and AC power on your receiver.when i do this it says "waiting for the responce of your receiver". this is as far as it will go. Is my box goosed now?

The EV with grey front panel is either a 06 or 07 model.

You will need to know as there are different firmware for them.

You can find some info here

    Try this compliments of celt71:
Its similar to hitecks advice, but theres more to try!!!!

To see which port your USB adapter is connected to, connect your USB adapter and follow the following instructions:

    1. Go to the Start Menu
    2. Right click on "My Computer"
    3. Select "Properties"
    4. Click on the "Hardware" tab
    5. Click on "Device Manager"
    6. Click the + sign next to "Ports (COM & LPT)"
    7. One of the listed ports should indicate which port your USB adapter is connected to (e.g. COM1, COM2, COM3, etc.)
    8. Go back to your map software program that you use to transfer data and make sure it is looking at the correct port.
    9. You should be able to transfer data once the correct port is selected

If you need drivers go here

    http://www.gilsson.com/usb_drivers_download.htm

Follow my advice to step 7. Locate your USB Adapter (port *)

Right click on that port and select properties. Then select port settings, then select advanced. At the bottom of that tab will be a drop down box with the port selected (port * in your case). Use the drop down to select another port (eg 1, 2 or 3). If the port you want to use is already allocated to something else, you can use the same procedure to reassign that port after you have finished.
Save the selections in the usual way. The USB converter will be permanently assigned to the port you selected.
