From what I hear, the Firmware for the A750 that allows it to use the I-Connector does not support N1 or N2, if you are in a N1 area and disconnect the I-Connector, it will not open encrypted channels with the April 2010 firmware.

Most UK areas do now carry the N3 CaID, so even if you can still use a Eurovox etc, the I-Connector will likely still work

It wont work with any other box other than the Kryptview so if you have a Eurovox or Digiviox etc the iconnect WILL NOT WORK ON THEM!!!!!!

if they wanted to find out they could look I reckon, but their main concern is the server, that's what they'd wanna get rid of!

There are rumours of a Starview server shortly. Whether it will be the SV6 or just a re-branded (and more expensive) SV7, time will tell.

That is for sat this is cable we are on about now and mickah is talking about the older boxes the like of the 3/4/5 starview the digivox both usb and xl models eurovox all models and replay lite all models they will not work again after N3 has been finished in the uk.

about the linux on cable well unless some bright sparke gets whats needed that will also be dead in the water on cable anyway.

LOL this thread is one of the biggest "Billboards" I have seen here.

Linux cable boxes, DM500c etc, have been working on N3 for quite a while now in Ireland. Even before the ones posted on some forums. They are public but kept small for a very good reason.

There will be a lot more than the Iconnector coming to a trader near you :) There will be plenty of CS enabled boxes with ethernet ports available enough for everyone in the audiance :) Just hope it is a small enough drop in the ocean, i.e. cable CS in Ireland & the UK, to keep the CC from being too counteractive. But knowing the greed involved and the people concerned the hobby will prove to be a lot more difficult in the future.

Get a DTT aerial for terrestrial channels and CS on Sat it is by far the best avenue to take. But if you want to CS on cable by all means work away.

Oh almost forgot hello everyone :)
