I'm addicted mostly to the rock and heavy genres so there's not many exceptions of them in my list, I decided to mention also best tracks of the bands:

    - Deep Purple (Smoke In The Water)
    - Jimi Hendrix (Purple Haze)
    - Iron Maiden (Wrathchild, Where Eagles Dare, Clairvoyant, Children Of The Damned...)
    - CCR (I Heard It Through The Grapevine)
    - Camel (Mystic Queen)
    - Iron Butterfly (In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida)
    - AC/DC (Hell's Bells)
    - Steppenwolf (Born To Be Wild)
    - The Cult (Here Comes The Rain)
    - Judas Priest (Breaking The Law)
    ...

    And I'm born in '79.

Shit, I forgot to mention Misfits and Samhain in my list. I'll try to burn my speakers with He-Who-Can-Not-Be-Named as repentance rite.

I'll do that at later this evening, wallowing in the sin for a while will teach me humility.

I'm not much of a music listener, but run dmc and beastie boys are the only ones from my playlist that fit this category. Pink Floyd has few good tracks too.

Good to see you again, VenomX05.. havent seen your name around for a while.

I think we all consider 'Old Skool' the music we first got into when in our early teens, right?

when i was in primary school i was into stuff like Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, ZZ top etc, all the usual stuff shown on MTV when we first got cable/satellite TV in the UK.. until i first heard Run DMC / Aerosmith's 'walk this way', then everything changed & i got into Rap/Hip Hop until 1988 when my generation got our own 'new music' in Acid House.

Rap was great, but it was an american thing & my generation needed a UK movement to follow like older people had found in Ska, Punk & Prog Rock.

best tracks i can remember at the time :-

    Adonis - No way back
Bang the Party - Royal House (can you feel it)
    New Order - Blue Monday
Strings Of Life - Strings of Life
    Happy Mondays - Step On
    Adamski - Killer
Inner City - Big Fun/Good life

Im sure more would come to me if i could think, but now my brain hurts after thinking that far back :) LOL

romero .i think my fave "Iron Maiden" song would have the be "Rime Of The Anicent Mariner" the 13 minute epic from the "Powerslave" album it kicks butt .Fave. Iron Maden album is a toss up between "Powerslave" album or "Number Of The Beast"
