Hey, all. Newbie here. I'm currently flying a few of my band's gigs (VHS) onto the HD with a Canopus ADVC-100 and saving the files in Vegas 4 as .AVI files. I'm burning them on DVD-R with a Sony DRU-500A as DVD disks. The problem is that I can only fit a little over an hour onto a disk burning with Sonic MyDVD. Is there a reason for this? I thought DVD-R disks could hold a little over two hours of uncompressed video. Any thoughts? Am I doing something wrong?

TIA for any and all help.

Seems there are many people out there with MyDVD having this same issue. I don't use this program (tho it did come with one of my burners) but my guess is that the encoder on MyDVD chooses to use high bitrate for video and/or LPCM for audio.

Try encoding using CCE or TMPGEnc and importing the resulting video/audio into MyDVD.
