   i'm trying to open an avi file in a hetml page, without downloading, i guess it will take some javascript... if anyone knows how to do it, pleeaase, let me know, i'm a bit desperate!!!!

   Nope no java script. Just use something like this
   
   <EMBED src="whatever.avi">. This will open the windows media plugin in Internet Explorer!
