I just purchased the 57734 (57") and want to return it and get the 65734 (65")because it is bigger for about $300.00 more. It has a wonderful, bright, colorful picture. Anyone have any good or bad opinions about either one of these models? The 65734 is exactly the same as the 57734 but is 8" bigger.

I like the fact that it is 3LCD and not the older ONE LCD.

Do you have either one of these models, and if so, I've been told that the lamp life is approximately 5000 to 7000 hours. Do you know if this is accurate and have you had any problems with either one? I am going to return my 57" to the store and upgrade to the 65" tomorrow. I can get the 65" on sale for $1,699.00. I have no problems with the 57", just want a bigger picture, it's only 2 weeks old.

@orion250, lamp life as stated by the manufacturor is usually quoted in the best light (sorry) possible. As you are aware turning the lamp on and off is the real killer. To avoid accidental turning the lamp off, may I suggest an non interruptable battery back up,ie. a computer backup power supply(for power outages). Normally, as you turn off a TV, the lamp is turned off and a cooling fan cools the lamp . On a power outage, the cooling fan doesn't come on and the lamp is subjected to higher than normal temps which cause shorter life expectancies.Hope this helps, and no I am not a proud owner of such a fine TV.
