Thanks for convencing me to buy that Optorite burner all. It's working like a charm, with one exception.

Every time I choose the write speed (40x, 32x, 24x, ect) it tells me that it can only burn at 16x instead of whatever speed to current disk. It won't even burn at 24x.
The thing is, I have Mitsui (silver) CDR disks that guarantee up to 24x!

Any ideas on why this is happening?

    Thanks in advance.

Now, this might sound odd, but change your media, the drive might not be optimized for such media.

You can check the drive's manual for recommended media, but I believe that you should use media from Ritek, Prodisc, Princo, and other high-quality media from taiwan, those tend to be better with these. (Don't know about the 40x, have used the 32x.)
