Hi all. My dvd burner started shaking my whole computer when it tries to read any discs. Also, when the disc tray opens I hear a scraping noise. It can no longer read discs (well I havent left a disc in there long enough to find out cause the loud noises scared me!!!). Its a year old now. Is there anything I can try, or should I just replace it? Cheers
just replace it, i used to have an Optorite DD1205, yes, it WAS a piece of crap~ it was my very 1st burner and it stopped reading/burning after a few months... optorites' just aren't good quality drives, the build quality is very shabby and the tech.support/customer service is NON-EXISTENT...so, do yourself a favor, have a look around in this forum, there are MANY quality drives that are inexpensive, consider that and DO NOT buy Optorite again~ docTY~
