Now that I have found a method for converting cd's to mp3. I am looking for a method of cataloging them on my harddrive that would be searchable by different parameters such as Performer or song title. Any ideas?

winamp or windows mediaplayer but you will have to edit your id3 tags with artist name so on
win amp will try to retreive this info when you insert a cd and if you use it to rip the disk to mp3 it will enter this info
there is a software program that searches for a song via the internet and updates the tags for you but I'm afraid I've forgoten the name

Tag & Rename is the best tagging program. It is very user friendly and easy to navigate. Click here to go to the official site = http://www.softpointer.com/tr.htm
