I just got xilisoft. works great and fast to. problem it don't create ts folders with vob files. just one mpeg file. so i'm thinking fine i'll just put it in tmpeg dvd author and create them in 10 min. problem is even though there is no encoding going on in dvd author. the resulting file has audio video sync problems. that's just weird because after i converted the file in xilisoft the video was pefectly in sync. so why would tmpeg author make the video out of sync when all it's doing is taking a file that is basically ready for a dvd and creating a ts folder. the audio and video sync problem is weird. at the begining of the movie it is in sync by the end it's almost a second out witch means only one posibility ether the video or audio would have to stretch or shrink. could it be somthing i did when i encoded it the first time in xilisoft that even though the file played right, and it played right in every video player i have to, that somthing in the file is saying look out im unstable to even the slight of analizing or changing. in this case just want to make ts folders so burn the file. THANX A TON IF YOU CAN HELP ME!!! OH and i do have canopus procoder and other converters but for some reason xilisoft just flew and result looked better too. that's why i want to use this new program.
HI there again. i said above the problem really started after i tried to make a ts folder with TMPEG dvd author. Well i went ahead and took the resulting file that xilisoft made witch was fine at the time, a good convertion only on ts folder and put it in canopus procoder and converted it again with basically the same settings, bitrate, frmerate, video size, the program probably thought that it didn't really have convert much i would imagine. Well belive it or not the reasulting file from canopus and the result from TMPEG author were the exact same. the audio was of the exact same way, the same amount witch means the problem does lie with the resulting file from xixlsoft, but why would that file play right and then whene touched by another the audio-video slip out of place. theres got to be a way to lock the audio and video in place. and i have never had that problem with canopus. the orginal file was an AVI file and xilisoft converted it to dvd mpeg-2 and looked fine so i thought but only when just played in a player like Nero,WMP, Power dvd it was all good there. i can't belive that making a ts folder would have anything to do with making the audio and video out of sync. PLEASE HELP. THANX

Back again. I did another test. This time i took the original avi file put it in xilisoft but this time i used 23.976 for the frame rate but theres no option for pulldown. and used mpeg layer-2 for the audio. once again the file came out good. but unfortinatly i still need the vob files to burn a dvd so i put that result into canopus converted it again with 3:2 pulldown thinking that would work. and it did the same thing again with the out of sync problem. the video looks great though. could it be a codec. I do have the latest xvid and divx and vob codec pack. But the codec that comes up in xilisoft says mpeg2 mpeg4 or somthing like that. and in canopus it says something like mpeg iso and some numbers. do these programs just look for the most likely codec or does that mean that that was the codec that was used originaly.

I know canopus will do it but how do change the aspest ration or resolution in that program. xilisoft was easy you just put in 16:9 and 720x480 and that's what you get, and good quality too. In canopus it gives you the option to change the source pixle and aspect ratio. but when i finally get it to 16:9 witch is what i want the playback looks pixleized slightly.
Anyways the sync problem i just have to figure out. THERE HAS GOT TO BE ONE AND ONLY ONE REASON FOR ALL OUT OF SYNC PROBLEMS.

Sossr, I never used xilisoft, but the problem could be the same as decribed in http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/129217 . Beracuse there's no reason for the framerates being wrong. I mean, it's an audio problem and if you have 23.976, 25 or 29 fps the movie's length doesn't change, it's just the method in which the image is shown that changes (like the cartoons, a series of similar images, fps = frames per second).
Therefore you should extract the audio stream ad an uncompressed WAV as decribed in http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/129217 . After , if xilisoft can load the audio separately from the video, the uncompressed WAV stream has to be loaded by your movie encoder, as TMPGenc can change the 'audio input'.
If xilisoft cannot choose an audio input different than the input movies, you have to make a new AVI file, which has the same video (in VirtualDub you can make it by keeping the Video menu setting at 'direct stream copy' ), and changing the audio stream (in VirtualDub's Audio menu, put as setting 'WAV audio..' , then loading the uncompresed WAV stream you just extracted from the original movie (and keeping 'direct stream copy' also in the Audio menu settings, since the resulting AVI will be just temporary and you don't need to compress the audio..). After all this work, use the brand new AVI file you just made as xilisoft's input, to transform it to mpeg.
