haha thanks guys. but the dam zalman fan is so big that it was kind of difficult putting in cause of the capacitors being so close to the socket. but i managed to have like 3 mm of space between the heatsink and capicitors :) i was gonna cry if it didnt fit. spent 50$ just on that! but anyways thanks for config dr, and same to you kal. im gonna try tonight. if i dont post anything, youll know that i did something bad and going to put my warranty in use. :) thanks once again.

Looks like im not using my warranty!

Well that goes well ends well. I think thats how it goes, anyways i did overclock it nicely. Athlon Xp 2800+ to Athlon XP 3200+ very nice :) That means i must have an unlocked 2800+ because i could use multiplyers ithink 1 ~ 15 something like that. but i used 200 mhz fsb auto memory frequency, optimal system performance, and also 11.0 multiplyer. after 11.0 it just went down to like Athlon 850 mhz lol. and the vcore was 1.775. So thanks for everyones help! but dont worry im not just gonna get my answer and leave, i think ill help around here too!

Rishi101, that's good to hear, all to often people join, get the answer, then never return. When I joined I never would have tought that I would spend so much here! I have racked my brains at night thinking of how to cure problems! I am the type that if I do not know, I HAVE to find out, if it's the last thing I do!

I think I amy have helped 1 or 2 people along the way & added a tiny, tiny bit to this marvellous forum. I have learned loads & made lots of new friends. Altogether a good experience.

well my zalman runs at about 2500 rpm and when i idle it's about 42 C and on load about 50 C. It's high becuase my case sucks. Its a server tower so i have like 9 external drive bays (5.25"). The cooling is so bad in it that i actually drilled about 200 holes on the side panel to put a 120mm fan in it. You have a A7N8X Deluxe, so it might be hard to put the fan in, but it will fit well. It also offers its own speed controller that your plug it into. And then your set for every socket except for the intel 775 socket.

Dr. XP. I was just wondering. Rishi, I'm also a heatsink guy too. The Volcano 12 is very nice and huge. It spins at 5800+RPM's and is kind of loud but i guess that means it's working. I have 4 other case fans and 2 are 120's and the other 2 are 80's and all by thermaltake. My proc has never been over 95 degrees farenheit! My 3d Cooler is also from thermaltake. It's the Giant III and it's freakin huge! it has a huge heatsink that wraps around the whole video card and then it also has a 9000 rpm fan add on that sounds like a turbo.(you can turn that fan on or off) i overclocked my videocard by almost 50 mhz and cooled it down almost 30 degrees Farenheit.

Hey, I bought another 2800, 333mhz (edit, I bought this for $90usd)Barton at newegg.com, and look at this. This is the answer to the guys questions who got that low voltage barton...... It's awesome, it over clocks very easy, and runs at very low temps. I oc'd it very easy to a 3200, 400mhz barton. They are basically a mobile with 333 fsb instead of 266. I am quite impressed with this. I'm going to sell, or put my old chip in the new computer to be sold, hehe, and keep this bad boy. Check out these spects,

This processors defautl vcore is 1.5v, I just upped it to 1.575, and boom, 400fsb.

The 2800 will be going strong for even longer now.

I'm going to try to top it off later on tonight after getting this other cpu together.

This also answers that one guys questions about the low volts barton he had received. WOW. I can only say one thing, F'N AMAZING!!

Another edit, your cpu reconizes these as unknown cpu, because NF7-S bios's needs to updated.... hehe, look into it guys. WOW..

    A barton 2500 pulls a sweet 2801mhz at 1.75vcore air cooled

Sorry, for you new guys at overclocking, this means, this new, well, not new, but this chips multiplier is unlocked!!

I have this little program that checks to see if multiplier is unlocked or not, I'm going to look for that later too. But just had to share this info with you guys first, you hard core 2800 fans!! HeHe

i have a barton 2800+ i can run it at 170fsb stable and 180fsb stable.. .but counter strike source wont run stable on 180.. everything else does, even doom3 (which im told is one of the most overclock sensitive games to date)

    MSI K7N2 Delta mobo
Innovatek water cooling max load temp 45, usually idle's about 32~35

anyone know why it css is such a bitch to me? id apreciate knowing.. cheers guys.

    hi all
    subadai
i can also o/c my xp2800 to 180mhz and higher stable but for some reason battlefield vietnam dont like it ,i can play maybe 1 or 2 maps if i'm lucky before the game crashes it seems that no matter what i o/c to it wont run the game stable except at stock speed just one of those things i guess .i have been told that some games are sensitve to an overclocked cpu so i guess this is just one of them ,as i say all other games run fine and system runs stable just grief with that one game

hello guys, aceprowl, kalunjoku and all overclockers. jejejje i had my xp 2800 running at 2.37 stable after several hours of prime 95 but with some games crashes too i had no problems with temps 35,36C ilde 40,45C load with volcano 12 and artic silver so heat is not an issue but after reading our post here and my own personal experience is that 2800 is not good performance above 180mhz bus, rigth know im setting down my xp2800 to 2.2 it runs great at that speed!!!

    anybody think like me¿

That's weird because my cpu is EXTREMELY stable at 200MHz fsb. I havent had any crashes before with it except for those early stages i was getting into overclocking(screw ups with numbers). I play games that are total resource whores such as UT2004 or HL2/Counterstrike Source and i still run stable. The other thing is that I really can't tell a difference from 2.37 and 2.2 performance wise, the only difference i see is that when you boot it up, the 2.3 has been replaced with a 2.2.

Subodai, Counterstrike: Source is so crappy to you because Steam is a RESOURCE WHORE. You seriously need like a 1gb of RAM or more for that game. I'm actually ordering another 512 stick but that's so i can play 32 people in UT2k4.

Hey guys, well i got my 2800+ to a fsb of 218 mhz * 11.5 so it was running at 2.5 Ghz. Well I have HL2 and CS S but before i had overclocked i had gotten atlest 50 FPS. I never got any crashes, but i checked my fps and it had significantly dropped as it was something like 20 FPS. I put my system back as it was and presto, my games work fine. SOOO, i believe that some of the cpus work better in overclocking but some just break down after a certain point.

Another thing that helps is that i have an overclocked 9800 PRO. I was playin the other day and was getting 100+ fps on CS S. it was actually in the 130's. oh well, Steam is still a RESOURCE WHORE!!!
