    Ronnybuck,
I read this morning on an internet site that the ES-20 is inferior to the ES-10. Check this out .....

Panasonic finally answered my request for support, a typical nonsense answer by someone in Pakistan or India. They told me to use only Panasonic or Sony DVD-RW disks, guess what, Pan. and Sony don't even make them. Somewhere else or maybe it was here, I read that most people have good luck with Verbatim and Ridata and that of all disks the re-writable are the most unreliable.

Thanks for the links. Very Interesting on the ES20. The next time I go to Bestbuy I will look more closely. On the Sony -RW disks, I was at Sears tonight and they had a box of 5 for $7.99. I don't know about BB but will check tomorrow as I do have to get Star Wars III for my son and mail it to him. I have never seen any made by Panasonic unless they come with Recorder like their stupid Ram Disks. I am setting up for a recording tomorrow on the same disk. Will do it for the week and let you know. Make sure your fuji's are version 1.1 at 2 x speed. That is what I have. I have a couple of Memorex -RW's. One was messed up by by computer drive but I was able to reformat it in the Panasonic and it worked. I had to use the Sony brand in my Phillips too as it did not like the Fuji.

Just finished an extensive testing of my ES10 and everything is OK at least with the the fuji's. I do get a better picture with the ES10 than the Phillips. But the Phillips is about 2 years older. I looked at the ES20 and there is a radical difference in the case. It is about half the depth and has a Fan. I have to take time to compare the specs. I am looking at a Toshiba right now to keep down the interference of remotes. There are times I need four units to get the stuff my Son wants. My Cyberhome is totally undependable. I want something that will play Divx, WMA, QT files. Also I want some HiDef capabilities when and if I get a HD, ED TV. Anyway good luck and let me know what happens with your ES10.

    Ronnybuck,
I've done several recordings this week with no problems using the remainder of the Fuji dvd-rw disks. I'm beginning to think that the brand of disk does make a difference on this machine. I'm off to Best Buy to purchase some Verbatim DVD-R's, they're on sale for $17.99 for 50($.36 a piece). From what I've read they're one of the best disk on the market and this is a very good price, it's an instant rebate so that's the price out the door. They also have the Panasonic RAM disk on sale, a 5 pack for $4.99, that's also a great price.

That sounds great. I used a Verbatum DVD+ Double Layer to see if my writer in my computer worked. It did just fine. They are now making Double Layer Stand alone DVD Recorders. Let's hope the price drops soon on these things. Nice talking with you.
