panasonic pv_gs19 pc connection help needed

    i have had this unit(panasonic pv-gs19) for a 2 years it worked fine on xp i upgraded to windows 7 and now it doesnt work, im using firewire, its not working with vista either,i have tried 32 and 64 bit, works on my mates laptop runnin xp, i have checked all my hardware and other devices work so i dont think its my firewire card or cable..anyone have a solution any help greatly appreciated

    The camera is old and probably is not Vista or Win7 compatible.

    it is old but its still on sale in various stores and online so it should be compatable with what OS systems are on the market. When i installed the driver i selected to run in XP mode but this didnt make any difference. As far as i can work out panasonic have not updated their drivers which i assume would fix the problem. the support i have had from panasonic is very poor and they tell me to contact microsoft and microsoft say to contact panasonic
