Jerry how do we set up the receiver to take the BEV in the Pansat Menu? Do you have instructions for this
Here is a good setup guide. You need Acrobat Reader to view it. http://future-fta.info/Forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1467&d=1132693452
hi jerry, 2 things, first having a problem with receiver pan3500, from lnb goes to 2 rooms, if i have one receiver in each room, signal good, no problem, if i disconnect either one, signal drops off an a no signal message comes up on screen, what to do, second, the file from keymaster comes up as currupt and cant get new keys, can you redo thanks a ton, from everyone
Hi dodger18, Here is the second link I set up for Keymaster. The original one quit working for some reason. http://s19.quicksharing.com/v/8331208/keymaster2.0.zip.html Your problem with the 2 receivers is something I read about before but have no idea why it does that. Does your LNB have 2 outputs or are you trying to use a splitter of some sort to get to both receivers. You can't use splitters to run 2 receivers. You have to run 2 cables right off the bottom of the LNB. If I find out anything else I will post it. Jerry
thanks for the speed reply jerry, i am running two cables separately from the LNB, I was told that the receiver sends off power to the LNB i dont know if the power is low because of the type of cable that was installs or if the receiver isnt toing its job, when two receivers or hooked up at the same time, power is sufficient. AND if i substitute even with an old, non working dave receiver, as a second connection, makes the pansat work, so i have narrowed it down to either the cable or the switch or the box, some narrowing
The receivers send power to the LNBs to make them work and select channels. Your problem could be in the LNB. I run dual output LNBs with only one receiver and it works well. Its a strange problem. I'll keep looking for an answer when I have some free time. Jerry
a) it could be your LNB. I am set up for 2 receivers, but my 2nd cable is just hanging empty for now, and the one hooked up is working fine. However, you should try plugging the 2nd output with a terminator, just in case there is some noise traveling on your unused coax. b) I learned a lot from this forum, many thanx for that. c) I would like to do my first blind scan on my pansat 3500. If I do that, do I have to redo my favorites? d)I heard the SD card can keep the EPG. Then why does it take several minutes to get it all the time I power it on? Do I need some setup to feed the EPG in to SD? e)I would like to know what birds can I see in different locations. Is there some sort of a map, showing the coverage? and list with the channels for each?
hi jerry, i am getting tired of reling on my sat guy to meet him and flash my box, can you tell me what i need and how to do it for myself, thanks
@dodger18, here is a link for a complete setup guide. You need Acrobat Reader to read it. http://www.future-fta.info/Forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1467&d=1132693452 Jerry
@dodger18, Future-fta is Blacklist's home site. His files will be posted there first. Here is the actual link. Files are listed by receiver model. http://www.future-fta.info. Jerry
thank you jerry, i was told that before i download the new bin file, i have to flash the pansat with the factory bin, what does this mean? how do i do that?
Installing the factory bin is the same as any other bin. This is usually not necessary. Installing the latest bin update will automatically erase the older bin in the receiver. The factory bin install is only used if some strange problem shows up. It restores the receiver to the way it was when purchased. Factory bin can be found at PansatUSA.com. Its good to keep on hand but not necessary to use it before every bin update. Jerry
LNB Question Jerry Is it safe to assume that one LNB on my dish picks up on Sat? So if I wanted to pick up five different sats would I need 5 LNBs?
@CPK2006, Yes 1 LNB for each sat. However you may need extra dishes also depending on which sats you want. The bigger the dish the possibility of more sats off it, but actual orbit location only allows certain groups of sats off one stationary dish. Those wanting multiple sats usually go with a motorized dish that can be turned to different positions. Jerry
Thanks Gerry I saw an oliptical dish with 4 or 5 LNB's on it. It is designed to be a stationary dish (doesn't need motorized mount) So with this would be able to get the signal from 4 sats???
Yes, depending on the dish size 4/5 LNBs should give you 4/5 sats. What you have to watch out for is compatibility between a dish with multi LNBs that may not work with FTA receivers. Those units usually have internal switches that sometimes cause problems with FTA receivers. Sometimes with a lot of playing around they may work, sometimes you end up scrapping the LNB setup for several single LNBs. If the dish you are looking at comes with 4/5 single LNBs then you will be OK feeding them through the regular FTA switch. If they are combined into 1 big LNB unit with the internal switch, you will need to do a good bit of research to see it that unit will work. The most common all in one unit is the 3 LNBs in one. Just research before you buy. Jerry
jerry ----------if i put the new bin file in for the pansat3500 will i need to keep putting the keys in
Crowbar91, the latest Pansat files will auto roll for DN. You may need to wait about 5 minutes or more. There were some problems with the auto roll working on BEV. I don't know if thats working or not. You may need to manually input keys for BEV. I don't watch BEV at all so I don't follow those posts very much. Jerry
