Well if you entered the keys and it worked for several hours then you did everything right. What happened when it went out was probably another key change. The providers have been changing keys on a regular basis even several times in one day. Thats why its best to get the latest bin file installed that has a working auto roll for the keys. The auto roll will find the new keys when needed. Now, even with the auto roll bin, you may find at times that doesn't work. Thats because the providers will change the encryption enough to disable the auto roll feature. then you are back to manually entering keys again until a NEW bin comes out.

This is the game thats played all the time between the dish providers and the code (bin) writers. My suggestion to all those out there that rely on other people to program their receivers is to join a good FTA forum and then read all they can about how to update your receiver yourself. Both the key update process and the bin file update are easy to do. Most FTA forums are free to join and all files needed are also free and can be downloaded off those sites. They usually have beginners areas with detailed instructions on both processes. I try to help out here as much as possible but my time on these forums is limited. I'll list a few sites below with the main receiver they lean towards.

    http://www.furure-fta.info. -Pansats
    http://www.hashhu.com. -Viewsats
    http://www.f2atv.com. -Coolsats
    http://www.electronicguru.net. -supports most brands.

These sites also have sections on other brands of receivers but the one listed above is sort of their favorite. Hope this helps some of you get to learn more about your receivers. I'll still be around here to help if needed.

Before the key you can use it longer now you have to update at all time. Why is that? Thanks for your help.

The providers (Dish Net and BEV) change the keys as often as they can in the hope that people like us will get tired of updating the receivers and sign up for a subscription with them. They thought they had us beat back in June but found out our code writers are as good as their encryption writers. So all they can do for now is change codes often until they try another complete encryption change.

Got a used pansat 3500s from a friend. Try to install the new b80 file but the pc cannot detect pansat 3500s. I use a generic RS232 cable, do you need a special RS232 cable ? I got mine from the local computer store.
    Thanks

You probably have the normal straight through cable. The Pansats need what is called a NULL cable which has a few of the internal wires crossed on purpose. You might find one at Radio Shack or try the computer store again.

I have a 3500sd, I did have it working before when I first purchased it. But the problem I am having since I put in the new keys is that it just keeps waiting for picture. It has been up into the 30000% range and still never gets a picture. Could you please tell me how to fix this. Thank you in advance!!

If you have the latest auto roll bin you shouldn't need to enter keys. Here is a link to the newest 3500 bin file.

There has been several encryption changes to defeat the auto roll feature. If you are using an older bin file it won't work.

    Thanks Jerry,
The new crossover cable did the trick. I have a 3500S, download the
B80 file and the new api. So far haven't got the unit to show any pictures yet. I'll keep trying.

Hello I just tried updating Pansat 3500 with boot file b-80 bios. I used the loader X-05BL Loader v35.01 [X-05BL] file and null modem cable. The b-80 file downloaded and the loader showed the 'message download complete', followed by a message 'flash burning' and then said 'flash update failed'. Now the display on the Pansat 3500 says b-80 but I get no signal to the TV or a menu screen. I tried doing this again but same messgae 'flash failed' after flash burning message. Have I locked the Pansat 3500? How do I fix this please. Surat

I'm not sure what happened but you can try this fix. Go to your site where you get the files or PANSATUSA.COM and download the factory loader and bin file. This file won't get any of the pay channels but restores the receiver to original settings. Since your unit does turn on just try loading the factory bin as you always do. If that works, then load the new files on top of that. If it seems like it won't take the file, shut off the back power switch. Have the factory loader and bin ready on your PC. Click the loader download button and a second later turn on the back power switch of the receiver. Timing this is tricky and has to be just right for the bin to take. See if that helps. If that doesn't help, try this forum link below. They deal mostly in Pansats.

Jerry thanks for the reply. It seems that the flash may have become defective since the first time we downloaded the b-80 bin update, the loader said 'downloaded' but we did'nt wait for it to reboot and so did we burn out the flash? If so how can we replace the flash? Thanks, Abeezar

Get a good download and just try it again. If it fails, then try that proceedure I posted above. That fix even works on receivers that seem completely dead at times. I don't think you did any actual damage but you need to force a good flash over the bad one. I would try the factory bin first to clear out any possible problems in there.

Edit:::: I am trying to research this more and am finding that you may need to Jtag this receiver if what I posted doesn't work. I hope a good B-80 file will load properly. If it starts to load, DO NOT SHUT IT DOWN until it reboots itself and the word (ON) shows in the display.

NO, PansatUSA only has the factory file listed. That won't get you any good channels if you know what I mean. Go to this site I will link to below and join, its free. Then check the newbie/ getting started areas for your model receiver. Read all the guides and then go to the download section for you receiver. All files and instructions you might need will be on this site.

    http://www.future-fta.info.

They are the best support site for Pansat receivers. All sections are listed by receiver model.
