@shak4031, This is a guess off the top of my head. My brother was having similar problems as yours. He found out he wasn't selecting the proper input in the recorder menu before recording. I wasn't there when he got it straightened out so I'm not real sure of the exact way he fixed it.

    Mr Jerry

I took your advice and bought a Viewsat reciever. To hook this up do I loop it through my Pansat 3500s, do I attached it directly to the sat dish or do I need a switch to split the signal for the Pansat and the Viewsat? What do you recommend

Hi everyone. After spending some hours with my pansat 3500s receiver and not finding the solution to my problem I decided to join this forum and hopefully get some help.

As everyone know the new bin is out and works perfect. My only problem is that I have two receivers working fine and a third one that doesn't work.

I'm getting a well known message "Scrambled or bad channel". I flashed this receiver with a bad bin (I think) and after this never worked again.

The only difference I noticed is that it is not showing the echo 8.6 anymore, It shows now echo 8.10 and some others that the other receviers don't have.

I tried different things already and still not working. Please help.

CKP2006, I just use the Viewsat only now. I gave the Pansat to my daughter/son-in-law this weekend. I never tried the loop through setup so don't know how or if it works well, so my setup is from the dish straight to the Viewsat. You can't split the dish line to 2 receivers since there is control voltage from the receiver to LNB's. You would need 2 lines off the LNB's to run 2 receivers.

thanks, can you give me a link to down load viewsat's latest bin file. Do I enter the keys like on the Pansat 3500s?

@cocomacac, Echostart sort of retired one sat and replaced it with Echo 10. Thats why you see the different numbers. The same channels are there just on a different sat. As to your receiver problem, try reflashing it with the FACTORY bin file which you should find on their home site. Then install the latest bin over the factory bin. Make sure you are using the correct bin for your receiver.

Jerry, thanks for answering my question so fast and for the information.

What I was trying to say is that I flashed it with the factory bin already and then intalled the last one and didn't work. My other two receivers (same model, same configuration and same bin) are working fine and never had a problem with them.

Any other ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

If 2 out of 3 are working it sounds like a problem with the receiver itself. You must know how to do it since you got 2 up and running. I'm just guessing but it looks like a bad receiver at this point.

    Hey Jerry

I have a question about the Viewsat Extreme that I bought, based on your suggestion. It is a FTA, when I received it there is a smart card slot. Do I need a smart card for the FTA to work? Are there any good forums for Viewsat?

Jerry, I can't aim my dish to any satellite. I have a birdog, but even with this device the level doesn't go over 85%. Quality always 0%. I have a D..TV dish. Triple feed. I am located in Brazil. Does the location matter? I've been looking for the azimuth and elevation at lyngsat.com to try to aim to the right direction, but no lucky. Do you have any tip?

Crowbar91, go to PansatUSA.com and get the factory bin download. Install the factory bin, then install the new bin file over the factory file and see if that helps.

CPK2006, the card slot is not active and not needed when the latest bin file is installed. Here are 2 forums that deal mostly with Viewsat.

cadu1974, when you say DTV triple feed, do you mean the dish with 3 LNB's on one unit?? If its that system I don't think it is compatible with FTA.

Check the pictures in this link. It shows the dishes and lnbs that work and some that don't. You may need to join the forum to access the link.

That's right Jerry. It is the dish with 3 LNB's on one unit, like the one on the picture. I will try to look for a dish that works with FTA here. Thanks for the help.

Hell Jerry, first timer. How do I get to 8282 to enter the code? After downloaded the new bin file, tried to set it up,scanned some satellites, but still no channels or signals. All helps are appreciated.

exkhmer, look what Jerry told me about this: try to enter 8282 with your remote. That should take you to the cas menu. You need to scan the channels and have some in there before you can access the other options like [bold]parental control[/bold] and channel edit. I am also a newbie, but I hope I could help you.

@exkhmer, After you install the new bin file and scan the sats, you need to let it find the keys which may take 5 minutes or more. You should get an on screen message showing a percentage that keeps going up. Just let it go until the picture comes on. In some cases it goes past 200 percent. Just let it roll.
