    @dblbogey7:

    Here are a couple of HD-DVD releases - available online - that should give your audio system a good workout:

    (1)Keith Jarrett, Tokyo Solo (concert) 2002
    Audio streams:
    a) LPCM stereo
    b) DTS 5.1 at 96Khz, 24-bits
    c) Dolby True HD 5.1 at 96 Khz, 24-bits
    d) DTS-HD Master audio 5.1 at 96Khz, 24-bits

    Of course you'll need HDMI 1.3 for the last 2 streams.

    (2) True Blue: Beautiful sea, Beautiful sound (underwater scenes with music)
    a) 96Khz, 24-bit, 5.1 PCM

    The same presentation can be passed over HDMI v1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 by first converting to uncompressed PCM. Converting to PCM or passing 8 channel PCM data via HDMI is somthing all the next gen players are to do (if they support the decoding of the format at all, of course). All receivers that except HDMI audio should be compatible with high res 8 channel PCM.
