Paying homage to my AD Family....well sort of

[bold]The Voices in My Head Say[/bold]

The voices in my head say many things,
Some of them are just sounds like a phone that constantly rings.
Once in a while they tell me to do things i know i shouldn't do,
Like stick my screwdriver in any available screw.
Sometimes they just murmur, sometimes they shout,
Most of the time i don't know what they are *#*@ing shouting about.
They're always in my head not really ever quiet,
With all the noise going on, you'd think there was a riot.
Well id better quit this, you see its time for my medication,
The doc said these pills were the best for heavy sedation.
You see im not really crazy, i know this to be so,
The voices in my head all told me this, and they should know.

well i am working on writing on a poem to post but i did want to say thanks to every one here i came here as a newbie and as you can see am now a junior member...i would like to say thanks to many people for helping me become smarter or something like that...some of those people are...maxburn....gwendolin...whompus....creaky....gear79....aabbccdd .....alkohol....andmer...that is just some but their are many others thanks to all and i will post my peom when i am done

p.s.- maxburn hang in their AD would suffer with out you

 

no prob man i am thanking you guys with out you i would have givin up on burning dvd's for would have been stuck with vcd in kvcd...which dont get me wrong kvcd not a bad form...but i love dvd's and now i can continue loving them

 

i came here scared and wet behind the ears
hoping for help to wipe away the tears
endless times did i see burned failed
contacted nero but they never remailed
upgraded and downgraded but to no accord
i thought the only answer was to offer a reward
and then their it was like a light in the dark
AfterDawn calling me like animals to the ark
every so helping so kind and so nice
like bandages for a wound with a bag of ice
i started as a newbie not knowing a thing
now i return the knowledge passing on the ring
now i pay homage to the afterdawn gods
and thanks alot to every one of you mods
with out this comunnity that i have found
my computer would be dead and i'd be no where around
so thank you for restoring my computer faith
cause of you im still here with a smile on my face

Very good poem there.
Those kind of thanks are what keeps many ppl going here. Too many times we fix things for ppl and get no thanks. I dont need thanks, but it is nice to get it. Particulalry if ive spent many hours trying to remotely fix a problem. Even though i didnt get to help you, i feel good that someone here restored your faith in technology. AD is different than many other online help places. What makes it different is the members. Most members here genuinely care about your problem, and will try to get you up and running again. We have our fair share of problem posters, but the mods do an excellent job of regulating the crazys.

what he found was such a shock,
a site that acculy DIDNT suck c**k

he browsed around and what he found,
was one community short a town

he fell in love and that was it,
his school marks all went for sh*t

well thank you folks i am still with nero cause of you folks i feel like every one i have encountered in the time that i have been here have all been great...and those of you who may think you haven't helped...you have no matter how directly or indirectly iy may have been...i may not post on all threads but i read a many that you guys do post on learn many things in advance before i even need to lknow it's a great feeling once again thanks

Now sit back and let me tell ya a little story,
It's about people who try to help others, and not for glory.
We're the Nero crew at AfterDawn
We work on burn logs, all day, all night long.
Why, we've even got a frog,
We're always trying to figure out why someone's Nero log went to the dogs.
It isn't easy, matter of a fact, it can be quite rough.
But we the Nero crew, we're pretty tuff.
We'll get you burning again, if you let us.
Don't want to do what is suggested, and start making a big fuss,
Forget me helping you, im taking a bus.
See we work for free,
But we aint taking crap from anybody.
We'll help anyone, its our thrill,
To fix your problems without racking up a big bill.
We don't ask for much,
We don't even need a kind word, or a soft touch.
All we ask is that you try what we suggest,
It's alot better than crossing your fingers, and hoping for the best.
Who are the Nero Crew?
Well, if you'd try to help us, it could be YOU!!
Come on, be one of the crew.
It's one of the greatest things you can do.
We've got a Nero burn log fresh and ready, just waiting for you.
But watch out, it can be addictive.
Don't get to the point where fixing a log is your only reason to live.
So here's some suggestions,
For those of you who already have questions.
Get a tough hide,
Some posters just want to take you for a ride.
Enjoy pain,
Love it like a forest loves rain.
It would also help,
If your not quite sane,
Kinda messed up in the brain.
Nero logs can drive you crazy.
Its not a place for the faint of heart, or the lazy.
Me, i dont have to worry about going insane,
I already know i've got a messed up brain.

Who have each been married for over 40 years
A true testament to the cliché, it takes blood, sweat and tears,
And to that I’ll add.....many a swears,
More importantly I wish I had the resolve of their spouses
Who for their marriage have been selfless and have no doubt toiled hard
Especially considering that rather fishy business of Gurnard,
I wish I had the wit and *ahem*, subtle diplomacy of Neph, Ddp, Creaky, Flip & Darthnip
Who effortlessly tell spammers to go to hell in such a way, that they actually look forward to the trip
I wish I had a dime for every flame war and the nerve to say "take a chill pill"
Coz if the latter doesn't work, then at least I might have just enough to pay my Psychiatry bill

I wish I had the valour of (Lady) Binkie7
Who though well secure in her sexuality and quite humble with it
Has pioneered the way for other female ADers to also obtain a*dic*(Addict status you pervs)
I wish I had the loquacity & genius of Gerry1, Geestar20, Garmoon, Pulsar & many others on this site
To change what is often times gray to pellucidly clear...black & white
I wish (for only a fleeting nanosecond) that I had the ‘nads’ of Glitched and Ozzymary
Who posses the ability to change on any given day,
What is painfully obvious black & white,...to various shades of gray.

I wish I had the youth and exuberance of Kinza, Lola, Mik3h, Auslander, Dela, Weazel & Lethal ,
Who posses the maturity and wisdom beyond their adolescent stage
Virtues which other ADers could well emulate especially if you’re senior in age
I wish I had the talent of Phantom69, DVDBack23 & Darkhadou
Who with a computer a Picasso become
Excellent graphic artists they are…..sine qua non
I wish I had the mind of an ‘arsonist’ like Kivory666, Creaky, Maxburn, LOCOENG & Gwendolyn
Coz they always be talkin’ bout stuff they be burnin’

I wish I had the wisdom of ScubaPete, Jerry746, Praetor and many others with knowledge to go
Who I’m sure have forgotten much more than I’ll ever know
I wish I had the picture repertoire of Ireland though I suspect I’d haunt others like a ghost
For if a picture is worth a thousand words, then surely I would multipost
I wish I had the good sense to quit when all my trials fail and things get too hot
For this I have to extend kudos to Doggy_Bot
I wish I had the vision of DRD and the entire Admin team
Who have cleverly crafted this highly addictive communal scheme
But my greatest wish presently, is for an elevation in this site’s morale
To restore the vibrancy and life to the disenchanted
Before their enthusiasm goes from dying......to dead.
