    The built in defrag should be ok.. You have plenty of room on your boot disk. You never sent me a log from Security Check so I can't tell just how bad the fragmenting is.... Run the defrag and I guess we'll see.. :rolleyes:

    I wasn't ignoring your instructions, I saw no report after I ran it. As I understood, it would be seen after my PC rebooted, it did not appear. "unroll eyes" (-;/ I'll go ahead and defrag, but I see my system does it weekly on a schedule, we may be out of bullets

    To recap, as it appears we may be running out of options, I ran every antispyware, malware, and AV known to man, I ran a Chkdsk last night with no errors. we've tested the memory, the C drive is 75% free and I ran the proggies you custom-designed to clean my PC. It's functioning now, but poorly and it appears to degrade each day, then I re-run all the stuff and it "behaves" a bit better for a day or so. To be specific, it runs slowly in both Windows and online, so it's not network related. I believe I'm safely prepared to crash and burn it, take it to factory defaults if you see no other option. Thanks again for your time and patience.

    I hope this isn't redundant, I don't know if you follow when assisting another Vet like 2Old, but I've run every AV, Mal, Spyware proggie ever created, I've run the custom ones 2Old set up for me and I ran a Chhkdsk, cleared out my PC so C is 75% free and my system is still running like a dialup (but both in Windows and Online, so it's not my network or connection). Even as I type this, I can hear my tower laboring and the letters I type this very moment are delayed. I also stopped most stuff from launching at startup. I think I'm prepared to burn it to the ground and do a factory restore if you see no other option. I saved the "Big 4" Pics/Docs/Vids/Music and photographed everything in Program Files so I know what to reinstall. I can't help but feel this is still a virus, this all started when I had the trojan and it hasn't recovered since, perhaps there's still a trace allowing to to regenerate or it's done damage to my registry (which I never mess with, never "clean" it)

    I certainly aint no PC expert, but no virus, no malware/spyware/ ram is fine defrag comes up good, only other thing that could be bogging it could be processor, check temps, open it up and check fan for dust, freely spins ETC

    We have just about exhausted all possibilities.... I can find no malware in your logs and hardware seems ok,at this point in time......If it is a hardware problem, reinstalling will not correct the problem!
    Lets check to see if an unknown malware is using up all of your ram:
    Right click the Task Bar and select -> Start Task Manager -> click the Performance Tab -> at the bottom click Resource Monitor:
    Capture.PNG

    then click on the Memory Tab:

    Capture2.PNG
    This should show how much memory is being used and if it's nearly all of it we will need to find what's using it.............

    Might be relevant, ran an msconfig and I have about 80 boxes checked under services, some unknown under Startup? and selective startup chosen?

    Well, even a blind hog finds an acorn once in a while..... :rolleyes:

    That is your problem. Too many processes starting up and running when they don't need to be. 162 MB of ram available to use just won't cut it.. :(

    Capture.PNG

    Before you poke around in msconfig, we can use the old program HijackThis and I'll see which ones are necessary to start and which ones can be turned off. If you make me a HJT log we can fix it with it:

    Download HijackThis
    • Go -> Here to download HijackThis program
    • Save HijackThis to your desktop.
    • Right Click on Hijackthis and select "Run as Admin"
    • Click on "Do A system scan and save a logfile" (if you do not see "Do A system scan and save a logfile" then click on main menu, it will be there)
    • copy and paste the hijackthis report to your reply.

    When I get the HJT log, I'll go through it and send you a fix.....

    Things are starting to look up.. [IMG]

    I wanted to also tell you that I had Windows Media Player taking up 50%+ of my usage. When I shut it down, my PC improved immediately, however, it's totally jacked up my network file sharing, it also seems to have affected my wireless streaming and I have 16 MBPS service, streaming a 700 MB flick should be a walk in the park, but it's buffering all locations in my home network (my Samsung TV's)
    Thanks 2Old

    What's more, I don't even understand why Win Media Player would affect me so, I use VLC, not Media Player.

    I don't believe it's Media Player.. More likely VLC....

    You have NO Malware.....
    You have no Programs starting that do not need to....

    Problem as I see it is that you are using Firefox as default browser and it's opening 34, yes that's 34, plugins and some of them are not necessary. Like 7 different versions of VLC. shown here:

    All of your FF Plugins - Not malware or bad but, sometimes too much of a good thing is just TOO MUCH!

    FF Plugin: @adobe.com/FlashPlayer -> C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF64_18_0_0_194.dll [2015-06-24] ()
    FF Plugin: @divx.com/DivX VOD Helper,version=1.0.0 -> C:\Program Files\DivX\DivX OVS Helper\npovshelper.dll [2011-06-20] (DivX, LLC.)
    FF Plugin: @garmin.com/GpsControl -> C:\Program Files\Garmin GPS Plugin\npGarmin.dll [2014-03-31] (GARMIN Corp.)
    FF Plugin: @Microsoft.com/NpCtrl,version=1.0 -> c:\Program Files\Microsoft Silverlight\5.1.40416.0\npctrl.dll [2015-04-16] ( Microsoft Corporation)
    FF Plugin: adobe.com/AdobeAAMDetect -> C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\CCM\Utilities\npAdobeAAMDetect64.dll [2012-09-20] (Adobe Systems)
