Right well I´m still laughing........yes it´s my daughter who is mad about Valentino Rossi. Now I´ll have to read your message a few times Creaky, but what do you mean by the pathname or extension is too long what do I have to do there????? Have already uninstalled Roxio on Gwendolins advice. Shall update the firmware. BUT what is the firmware I´ve never come across this term before????? Thank you for your help Annie
LOL. i'm puzzled why that pathname is even present in the burn/logfile so not sure what to make of that yet. as to firmware, that's what teaches your burner about discs and burn speeds for various discs.
Creaky that long pathname was because I was burning data which went fine, ie putting all my daughters rubbish onto a CD so she can put it on her own PC which is new. Sorry Permiggs didn´t mean to imply that Rossi is rubbish!!! Didn´t realise what a blog page was now I know, we had a good look, she loves the photos, especially the Doctor one.
Reporting back to say I did the firware update then tried again to burn with Nero Vision and it frooze almost immediately. Still couldn´t find anywhere to change the speed on that programme though it justs indicates burn at max and doesn´t give you an option to change it. I´ve seen where you can change it on the other Nero applications but surely if I´m using Nero Vision it won´t be altered if I do it on the other ones??? I have just followed Alkohol´s guide copying to hard drive first, but that´s as far as I got, it froze during the first minute which possibly means it´s nothing to do with the drive?? It´s possibly my PC I´ve been giving it a lot of grief this last week and it´s beginning to freeze on other programmes.....something it didn´t do before. Annie
