Yes, I know that. But the E5200 is cheaper than the 6000+ and OCs more.

    *shrugs*

    good deal anyway

less than $10 cheaper, and it's slower at stock. :)
Don't get me wrong, I'd build a system with an E5200 over a 6000+ because I'd just auto-clock it to 3Ghz and be done, but to say that the Intels are better chips isn't true for every environment.

Hmm, pin modding is something to look into. I know you can overclock the Q6600s to 3ghz even on non-OCable boards.

I have a Athlon XP(replacement for old celeron) 3200+ that I need to pin mod. get it up a few hundered mhz

$6 less than that with free shipping! $86 is amazing. OxiMoron may just get a face lift! LOL!! Nah! I'd put it in one of those good 780GX Biostar motherboards and have some fun!

Someone looking for a good quality 500w PSU, this is it! $29.99 with MIR.
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153028

I originally bought a Rev. 1.0, which lasted a month, and Newegg replaced it with the Rev. 2.0. Solid PSU that runs very quiet and cool. You would be very hard pressed to find a better PSU for the price!

Certainly a well priced unit, but call me superstitious, I don't like chances. Anyone who needs 500W gets a Corsair, anyone who doesn't gets an Earthwatts IMO.

I'll vouch for the Thermaltakes. I have used a 430W one in a computer with a oced 3.2ghz C2D and a 9600GT. It's been many months and the customer hasn't called back with any complaints.

Yeah good deal. The 620HX is like 120 AFTER REBATES, and that one is 110 out the door.

Yes, but let's be a bit fair here! We're talking $29.99 after MIR of $35 here! I can personally vouch for it's quality and performance as I've had it about 2 1/2 years thru two platforms and it works flawlessly. It even recently saved my computer from damage when I plugged in a "Generic" optical mouse that had a serious electrical problem. The computer wouldn't even boot up at stock speed until I removed the mouse! Recovery was to re-set the cpu and memory speeds to manual, and it came right up just like it always does! I buy them 6 at a time from Newegg, and use them in all my customer builds. I've never had a problem or a complaint, yet!

Very good PSU, at a fantastic price!

I don't use anything less than 500w PSUs. I buy them at a good price from newegg, and if one of my customer's wants to upgrade or add something, they have enough power to handle it! I overbuild everything! I also plan on them lasting 5 years or more, running at least 24/5, and some 24/7. I could make more money using cheaper components, but That's my "JRSystems" label on the front! LOL!!

the antec 380Ws is as good as any 500W IMO, its bloody fantastic, its like a 430W PSU in diguise.

do yuor PSUs which have to last 5 years have an 80+ efficiency, and you really think people who buy pre built system will eb upgrading anything major by them selves?

One runs my server fine, which draws as much power as any gaming PC normally does.

No they don't! It's 75%! A number of my customers upgrade the video and memory over time, usually when one comes home permanently!

No offense to anyone, but this is supposed to be a thread for bargains, not discussions. The only question that needs to be answered here is, "is it a good deal"? At $29.99, this a great deal! Who cares about all the other junk, it doesn't belong here. Comparing it to another PSU at the same price and specs, I could understand. There's lots of PSUs out there that have better specs, but not for that price, at the moment!

    Respectfully,
    Russ

Which is what I've done. Similar price, but no rebates involved, and the unit is just as capable. Also, 75% is poor. 80-82% is common, 85 what needs to be aimed for.
