    Hi there,

I have an XP-based Dell from 2002. It has an Svideo jack next to my vga out jack. BUT, I can't see anything in my settings for S-video and when I connect it to my TV via S-Video, it doesn't recognize the TV.

    Some Questions:
    1) Is the S-video plug-n-play? Should the PC recognize that a monitor is connected?

    2) How can I tell if my graphics card and system are S-video ready?

    thanks,

I had a Radeon card (ATI) given to me. I wanted composite out. The process was protracted! First I needed the Catalyst suite from ATI and them that would not install because I did not have .NET whatsit.
THEN! Then weird way you have to go to turn on the svid or comp' out is unbelievable. I did it in the end, quality was poor, probably be better via svhs.
Just a thought, sure it's not an Sv INput?
    Dave.
