i just finished putting permanent subs and converting avi to mpeg and i want to do it again.
i followed the exact same steps using tmpgenc but when i preview it, the subs don't show up.
i checked DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and it's at the top already.
    can anyone help me?

Sorry, I don't know why. Maybe some other plugin must be placed in another order? I never tested this, but I had a similar problem in using the DVD2AVI plugin for doing DVD ---> (S)VCD conversions with TMPGenc.
If you are desperate, you can use the old, log, slow method via VirtualDub. PM (don't post it!) me an e-mail address which is able to receive 2.5 MB atachments and I'll send you a brand new guide by e-mail.
