philips dvp 642 wont play xvid(some of them anyways)

    Thank you very much for this info Mr Satan!

    worked like a charm.

    I have a Philips DVP630/02 with the latest firmware. Got some bad colors and twisted picture on a Xvid file, but by pressing two times quickly on "system menu" button on the remote it resolved to prefection in an instant! joy! :)

    before, only half the movies i downloaded worked.
    now, another %25 work.

    still need a qpel update but boo ya for now!

    Thanx man...you don't even know how long I searched sites like this one to figure out what was going on with my cds. I thought all hope was lost when some time at 2 in the morning I found a page that told me some kool stuff that I shared here. Hope my info helped the whole lot of ya...l8r

    does anyone know how to get sub titles working on the philips dvp 642?

    do i burn the .srt on the same disc as the movie?
