I hook up my canon ZR45mc through my 1394 port and capture the video using Microsoft Movie Maker. The clarity is amazing.. I edit the video and the clarity is perfect. As soon as I burn to a CD-R using Nero to VCD or SVCD the picture is very blurry and choppy when I play it on my pc or my standalone dvd player.. Can someone please help?.. Thank you very much

Use TMPGEnc to encode/create your mpg and then use Nero to burn/author the vcd.
You may also want to try VCDEasy to burn/author the vcd as well (it's free, supports chapters and can do nicer menus etc.)
