I recently bought a toshiba satellite laptop with a dvd-rom sd c2502 installed. It would playback dvd's but kept getting stuck & freezes for a second evey 30 seconds.
I installed win2000 instead of xp and installed windvd4 but still have the same sticking problems.
    someone please help!!

Hi, thanks for taking an interest, I really appreciatte it.
I am a bit of a begginer so i don't even know where to look or what most of the things you said are. But I am determined & will search for any info you need.

When I play I turn off all other programs & connect to power.
The computer is brand new & so are the programs & drivers, so they SHOULD be the best ones but I cant be sure, cos I just trusted what I downloaded.
Here are some specs, to answer your other questions I need to know where to look for the answers?
    Thanks
    Richard

hmm.. a brand new laptop, I suggest contacting Toshiba tech support as they may have known issues with this model.. out of curiosity, does it happen when you playback in a window, fullscreen, or both? The problem could still be background services or programs, so you may want to limit the amount of startup programs and services.. in XP use MSCONFIG, in 2000 you pretty much have to edit the registry and fool around with computer management in order to limit services, etc.. anyhow, like I said, calling Toshiba support would probably be a good idea.

    Best of luck!
