After encoding a dvd to a mpg the picture is blurry when watched at fullscreen. When it is minimized it isn't, but the picture is way too small to see well. Is there anyway to make the picture better? And after I burn it as a vcd will this change on a tv? I use smartripper, dvd2avi, and TMPGEnc.

Well, VCD compares to good quality VHS and as everybody knows who have captured VHS clips to PC, VHS is blurry -- ye' good ole TV set tends to blur even the sharpest image unlike monitor which is why VCDs and VHS tapes look much better on TV than what they look on monitor. But really, VCD is just nice replacement for VHS, SVCD is more for those who appreciate better quality and are willing to make few sacrifices over it (to fit only 40mins of video to one CD, etc).
