    Hello,
I just burned my first DVD using a movie I downloaded off the internet. I'm very disappointed in the picture quality. I used the Roxio program and it said I had to use the low quality picture setting in order to fit the movie onto one DVD. Since this movie originally came off a real DVD, shouldn't it fit back onto a DVD with the same quality? Is there any program that will create a high quality burn, or do I have to split the movie up onto 2 DVDs?

If the movie is "hollywood style" it would normally come from a dual layer disc 8.5Gb. Blank dvds are normally singal layer 4.37Gb. In order to make it fit it must be compressed. You can download a program from here called DVD Shrink, it's free, check out the Shrink guide as well. This may help but your burned dvd can't be better than the source you downloaded it from.
