    Hi,

I would like to convert micromv from Sony IP5 to dv format and finally burn it to DVD.
Does anyone know whether Pinnacle Studio 9 helps?

    Regards,

    Oleg

    Hi gelonik,

It seems that micro-mv is a MPEG-2 format, but at a higher rate of 12 Mbps, rather than the normal 4-6Mbps rate used by mini-dv.

I found the following comment on http://www.manifest-tech.com/media_pc/micromv.htm

So if Studio 8 can do it, then Studio 9 will be fine.

    Adder.

    Thanks Adder.

Yet I would like to hear from anyone who had any real experience with that format, before I make final decision about buying any software.

    Thanks,
    gelonik

Fair enough mate. I have played with Pinnacle before and its a bit buggy (crashes occasionally) but it is easy to use.

I did read this on Pinnacle 9's website...
and then a few lines down it says...

HHHmm....so I assume MicroMV can't be captured in MPEG format, only AVI. Not a BIG deal...

    It also says...
    Adder.

    Good enough,

    One more question.
If I decide to buy Pinnacle Studio 9, there are plenty of propositions on EBay.
As they propose different packages with different content, which one is good to buy as I do not want to buy any "extra" that I would not use.

As I have told I am going for Pinnacle Studio 9, because of micromv format on my camcorder, and finally I would like to get files burned on DVD.

    Regards,

    Gelonik
