I have flashed my 104 to v1.40. I will not write at 4X with Memorex 4X media (-R). Does anyone have any solutions? Thanks
It is a 2x writer by nature, so weven with a firmware upgrade, it is probably not going to write at the 4x speed.
So the firmware update does not allow you to write at 4X just protect your unit if 4X is put into it. Bummer, I just bought a bunch of 4X media.
No, not necessarily. Old Herbsman should be able to help you more with this issue since he has one with firmware upgrade. I haven't heard him burning at 4x though. Ill tell him to come to this thread if he can.
You'll not be able to burn at X4 although you can burn at X2 on them , so not exactly a waste of money : )
