Man! DOES NERO SUCK OR WHAT! Doesn't work well with Sonys and now apparently the new pioneers. Perhaps it is the multiformat burners that Nero has probs with.

    NERO SUX...
    I repeat.
    NERO SUX.

Nero has had a few problems with the version 5 when it comes to DVD Video. However, the new 6 that is out addresses these issues. I am a firm believer in Record Now Max, thanks to BaaBaa and his supplied user guide at:

Maybe was sometimes but now it working perfectly. Since v5.5 it's working good. I get that Record Now Max with my Sony drive but I didn't use that long, because Nero can produce my DVD-disc's very good quality. If you have old standalone player then Nero UDF setting must change 1.02 etc. maybe..

Nah I have used Nero for like 80 plus burns with my DRU 500AX before it started to freak on me. Started killing +RW discs (making them unuseable and un-rewritable). Switched to Record Now Max and I have yet to see any probs.

The software that comes with the sony burner is not Record Now Max (Stomp), it is Record Now DX (Veritas) if I am not mistaken. Not quite sure if there is any major difference.

If you get burned by Nero (scuz the pun) then you know where ta go...

I don't think so, but if you have problems you can allways change it back :)
    I have tested both software's..

Yeah i thought it was funny the problems i was having, basically it would not burn a VIDEO_TS folder. I donwloaded the Veritas one and it was fine. I dont expect to change back, it couldve just been a bad download of the Stomp one. Who knows.......

Nero has treated me well over the years & I have hundreds of successful burns
On their site though it does state that... oh! here have a look

    http://www.nero.com/en/#c1045484562490

It doesn't say anything about +R you'll notice , only +RW & that is for Nero 5.5.10.42 aswell.
    Hence my successful burns as I use a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR 104 : )__X_X_X_X_X_[small][IMG]
I give you all these seed bearing plants & 'erbs to use...[/small]

Any Movies I copy with the 106D using DVDXCOPY XPRESS Ver. 2.5.2 and TDK 4X Media. Can only be read with the 106D NOTHING ELSE WILL READ THE COPIED DVD. That includes the DVD Player that read the DVD the copy was made from, a Panasonic RP56, an older Sony and a 3 Disc DVD Player made by Apex, 2 Mos. old.

Try using something better than DVDXCopy , like DVD Shrink ... and then burn with your favourite burning app !
