Ive just bought myself an OEM pioneer 107d,installed ok and plays DVDs fine only thing is is doesn't seem to want to burn faster than 1.5 x...It would seem it is running on the drivers for the old DVD player i removed, does any1 know where and what drivers i need to get it to realise its full potential?

Hi mobties, The write speed of any drive is usually determined by the listed speed of the blank media. If you have an 8X drive and are using 4X media, it should burn at 4X. Installing a hacked firmware sometimes lets a drive burn 4X media at higher speed and will unlock the rip speed also.
Also check that all your IDE channels are set to DMA in device manager, not set for PIO.

It's incompatible media if it drops to a wierd speed like 1.5*.

Usually sorted with a firmware update.

Personally if you are not confident about flashing the firmware - change the media.

As stated above you will need 8* to burn at 8*.
