    Hey there,

Please be patient, real newbie here........
I'm going to buy a DVD burner and I am stuck between which one of these are the best to buy, Pioneer 109DL, or the Plextor 716. I have read an awful lot of threads already posted and still couldn't really come to a conclusion on my own.

    Hi there,

I have asked the same question, and the answers I have received was, both drives are very highly rated, both drives have good support.

    It's now a personal choice.

I was looking into the LG-4163B since I have the LG-4040B (4x) and I am very pleased with it.

I assume the 4163B would have the same quality laser, quality firmware as my 4040B but I can be wrong !

Every DVD Player in the house will play the stuff my LG-4040B burned. (2x burns for quality).

Also the LG-4163B is a little cheaper (Canada) than the Pioneer and the Plextor. So again, I think it all comes down to a personal choice.

    Isn't it fun, having a choice !
