Hey dude....i can bet you are using DVD+R discs..........i have the same problem with my pioneer DVR 108..........it used to write perfectly on DVD-R and DVD+RW but when i recently bought a pack of DVD+R discs, all the first 3 discs have crashed....it writes till 100 % and then it says " COULD NOT PERFORM END OF DISC AT ONCE..........BURN PROCESS FAILED AT 4X"

Ive read about other people on the net who have the same problem with their pioneer writers

I am experiencing the same problem also. I am using some DVD-4X. It writes to the end and crashes... I also can play any dvd's on it!
Did any of you install drivers?
WINXP recongnizes it but still cant do much with it!
Did yours come with a sound cord?
    Mine did not!

I have now had the same problem as you but I have recently purchased a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-108 and it was working fine at first but then suffered blackout and my Pc has never been the same since. I have had every peice of hardware tested and some upgraded. As a result,..my pioneer writer reads at unbelievable speeds but writes at silly speeds (0.0x to 1.2x).
Using Roxio Software, Ridisc 4x DVD-R, OS= Windows XP.
iM NOW THINKING THAT THE FIRMWARE OR DRIVER MAY NEED UPDATING BUT CANT FIND APPROPRIATE PIONEER WEBSITE OR DVR-108 MODEL??? CURRENTLY USING MICROSOFT WINDOWS DRIVER.
