I want to play dvds from the PC to my TVset. I have setup the TVout of my nvidia VGA card to diplay correctly to my TVset. But, PowerDVD prevented me from playing the dvd because it is protected, asking me to disable TVout. Is there a way to work around it, apart from ripping the dvd?

Use a program called TvTool (tvtool.de, there is an english link there), this uses the video out of your graphics card, but make the computer think that it is using the monitor, so therefore getting around the macrovision protection.

It works with most Nvidia cards.
