I can play AVI's and DVD's with WMP on my laptop with no problems. When I use the TV out connection I get DVD picture on the TV screen but AVI files just give a blank (black) screen. Anybody got any ideas please?

There usually is a setting for which monitor is the main one or the default monitor. Switch it so the tv is the default or main monitor. Your system must not be able to put it (avi playback) out on both screens at the same time, I've had the same problem before. Another alternative is to just have one of the two active at one time.

The use of tv out requires extra WDM drivers to be installed on your graphics card. These are separate from your main video card drivers.

I have the same problem. The computer is capable of displaying both screens, but the video playback area is black. Have you found a solution?
