I have a few .avi that will not play on my computer and im not sure why. If i try to play them in ANY media player it acts like I have clicked nothing, I don't even get an error. Yet when I open it in virtual dub they work flawless. I dont know how to use virtual dub but perhaps it can solve my problem? I try leaving settings as default and saving as avi but it makes the file so big it doesn't work. If i change the settings to direct stream copy for video and change the audio, It locks up IM not sure HOPEFULLY someone can help me, Thanx

    see if this helps: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/divfix.html

you need to rebuild the scene index.
virtualDub can do it too if in the audio and video menu's you select "direct stream copy" that should keep the size almost the same. good luck.
