I just got a Sony E55 multi region Player and I made a CD on a program called Photoshow its one of these programs that allow you to make a Still show with music attached.
It will play back through my PC fine. but when I try and play in through my DVD I get a good picture but no sound.I wonder if it should be made in a different format to start with.
    Help would be appreciated.

Maybe you should check the audio formats (e.g. wav? mp3? WMA?) for compatibility with DVD player.

The music that you attach to the still show would be in a certain format (e.g. wav, mp3, wma). Your standalone dvd player may not be able to recognize and play those formats. That's why you need to check. Normally, a standalone player that can play cd and dvd would recognise wav files, some would recognize mp3, but probably not many would recognize other formats.

You can look in the manual or on the front of the dvd player usually. It has to be a format the dvd player can read regardless of what the program suggests is best.

Here's what it says in the manual:
    DVD-V.DVD-RW.VCD.CD.DATA-CD
Does this mean you have to set the player to accept anyone of these, or does it mean it will automaticlly accept this range?

O.K., I've done some search on the program at here:

    http://www.simplestar.com/compare.php

It appears that you can make a cdrom or vcd out of your compilation, if you have the Deluxe Version. So if you want to play on the standalone dvd, try make a vcd rather than a dvd.
