    I didn't try yet.

I will try to patch the game with vfix patch. I have a brand new plasma tv, hopefully it will do the job. I will post a reply as soon as I have a (positive) result :)

Thanks for the link but I got impatient yesterday and looked it up and i found another source..thought i wanna share it for those sick of filehosts or are having trouble dloading from them

    http://www.cdrinfo.pl/download2.php...nsole/PS2VFIX2005.rar&id=6261184356&baza=soft

Just choose FTP2, i think ftp1 is broken

I tried everything in there the Adr pathcer and vfix works except for the Y-fix v.1.06, i tried all the offsets and when i play it I just get a rolling screen and nothing else, only black screen that is rolling. But as you can see it seems that it is not the patcher that is the problem after all

Here's the thing I repatched my NHL again and lo and behold it worked!
But the problem is the rolling screen fix only works on one of our tv's!
I tried it on a SONY trinitron, SONY trinitron (japanese, cant understand cuz every text is japanese) and an AIWA. It only worked on my SONY trinitron and not the other 2. I wouldn't mind being able to play NHL on just one TV but the thing is I was able to patch DARK CLOUD and it worked on every TV in our house. Maybe this would help you guys. Try it on your other TV sets the rolling screen might stop, Of course the screen is not that aligned but it is acceptable. In NHL the scores are seen but the buttons you see bellow the screen are only 1/3 you can still see it so theres no problem there

I really wanna know why some patched games work on 3 tvs and some just work on one.

    I have a v5 ps2

I read some articles on this and some say that it works but the screen won't be aligned. And some say it doesn't so it's still a little confusing. I dont know

What model is your ps2? I only have 2 dvd-rw's one I use for ps2 games testing and video conversion to play in my dvd player. The other one is for backing up software that gets updated rapidly. It is a cheap no name dvdrw and i have burned and erased the contents about a 100 times and so far it hasnt failed yet. Like i said I have a model 5 ps2,been using it for 3 years and i love rpg so that just means the lens has been used quite often (i play rpgs for about 4-8 hours a day if im in the mood)

Hope you guys fix the FFxii prob, try other tv sets it might work for you

when I apply the vfix patch, the game won't even boot. The question is when those giant companies will release in french their games ? In quebec, there is a law, every movies are translated, every pictures... Only video games are in english exclusively....

It's exaclty what I'm thinking... I can understand that they don't want to traduce the games in quebecois, the market is 10 time smaller here than france (on the other hand I think every movies should be translate in quebecois and not in france) BUT they should AT LEAST propose in the quebec the french version... we're not french for the fun... anyway
A game like FFXII... I almost finish it, but i missed 3/4 of the story, especially that the language used is a little bit complicated...

What seem weird to me is that we don't get the same result from the patch... maybe it's depend of the tv also... coz for exemple me with the vfix 2005, the game boot and in color (with rolling screen) and you it don't boot... weird...

for the screen alignement, a lot of game propose the setting of the screen (of course it won't allow it to move a lot but maybe it can arrange a little bit)

For my PS2 I have V4 model (the old one I think, coz there is 2 V4) Maybe it's the modchip, but the dvd-rw don't pass... but... I'll try again, maybe it's was just my burning or game or dvdrw... it been years I try...

3 more dvd scrap tonight... tssss...I'll try other tv like you said, maybe it will work... I hope

Edit : I forgot, I tried the Patcher 1.06 + Jevahose (PPF) And it change nothing... the game still don't want to boot with this patch... (i don't even see the intro)

Ok, I can finally boot the game

I don't have the rolling screen(because of my new plasma TV), but I have a thick grey line at the bottom of my screen. As soon as I press 'Nouvelle Partie', I can change different options(screen positioning,...), and I click 'save', the game won't start.... I have a black screen

You need to extract them with winRAR. Just right click on one of them and press extract here.

Anyway, I got a PAL version of Eye Toy 3 and I patched it but when I play it the sound becomes offsync... the video appears faster than the audio, is there a way to fix this?

hum... the three problems those patch are suppose to resolve are the rolling screen, the colour and the sound... did you try all the patcher? Me I have different result depend on witch patcher I use
There is the 2 patcher on the first thread ( 1.06 beta and ADR), The vfix 2005 (there is 3 links just few post up) and another that I found NTSCONV http://www.megagames.com/ps2/files/NTSCONV-FrontEnd.zip (for this one you need to convert your ISO to a BIN file (I used MagicISO)

As for FFXII, I finally sucess to boot the game too, everything works great, I can play in french (subtitle, better than nothing :) and it's only with the VFIX 2005 that it work for me. I tried all my burning test on three of my tv and it's working on the third... the tv it's not at the best place for playing but... anyway...

The only question... does I finish my english game or start it all over... 80 hours... arf...

You could install powerISO,UltraISO,daemontools, alcohol 120% or any other image apps to see if it's an Image file.

Basically the common image files are .mds,.cue(for cd's),.iso,.bin,.daa(not so common but use powerISO to convert it to others (iso bin) so that your app would recognize the file)

as for the r001 etc files, It's a winRAR archive that is split into parts. It is usually used to split large files into small ones so that it could be uploaded to filehosts, or can fit flashdrives for transfering(of course you transfer the split files one by one)

Just right click on the file with no index(ususally .rar) and extract here or whatever extract method you choose

It's really simple, I patched my ISO with VFIX 2005 (link up there), burn it with dvd decrypter (1x, to be sure lol), and it's working fine, no problem at this time (I saw the intro, and play a few minute in the castle) Even the screen was pratically well aligned, I move it just a little and now it's perfect.
For wazz, I have no grey line, the game exactly like my ntsc's one. Are you able to see the cinematics after the settings of the game? or when you start the game (after the settings), the screen stay black?

The only thing is that we seem to have different result from the patchers... maybe it depend on the iso... or probably the tv... me it's working on one of my tv, a philips, cathodic. On the others, I have a rolling screen. (Philips is probably better than JVC and citizen... lol)

If you tried all the patcher, on every TV you have, and it's not working, it's probably your TV... or the iso but I don't think it's the problem...

Good luck, if you have question i'll probably pass again... between 2 final fantasy... I must reach my english game lol

I click Extract Here on one of my R001 files. Then it became one Massive file around 4,000,000KB. Then i use Y-FIX V1.06 BETA to patch it. So then it can be readable for my T.V. Then i burned it into a DVD. It took up the whole DVD space and it didnt Succusfully burned becuz the file may be too big.

I think the problem is that i didnt make it into a .ISO file. If so how will i do that? Do i needa make it into a DVD first then convert it? I read the post but i didnt get it. Can someone help me?

Hi there! Following the method in this forum, I managed to fix a PS2 game from PAL to NTSC without any problems. However, I was unsuccessful with two games which are PS2 CD-ROM PAL games (and not DVD-ROM). "Wacky Races : Mad Motors" & "Flintstones: Bedrock Racing" are their titles. I have downloaded both games and have the bin/cue files. I also have the original release of the Wacky Races: Mad Motors game on CD-ROM. I was able to patch the games, using the Y-fix tool, used burnatonce to burn. The discs are booting, showing the PS2 logo, but the games simply don't start (black screen). Any help would be appreciated as I scrapped several discs already, trying a few things. Many Thanks!

Just fixed my own problem. Used Adr patcher to patch bin files + used alcohol 120% to burn cue files on maxell CD-Rs, choosing Playstation 2 data type, with lowest speed 4x. Works fine now.

Some guys report that RWs don't work for them but for me it works (I use a cheap DVD RW for test buring my avi(divx) movies and ps2 games). It could be the mod chip I don't know

If you don't have swap magic and/or hdloader(hdadvance)/usbextreme the n you definitely need a mod chip to be able to play backup games.

It really doesn't matter where you mod it whether you're in a PAL region or NTSC region just as long as the modchip is compatible with your ps2 model (at least that's what I think). To be sure ask the one who's going to mod your console if it is compatible with a PAL console or if you're going to mod it yourself be sure to buy a modchip that can convert between regions and is compatible with PAL versions. Modchip vendors usually have websites that you can get info from in choosing the modchip for you
