    Okay....

    Backround:
Running a Windows XP PC with 512 RAM
Using: FRESH pack Verbatim DVD + R
Drive: LG GSA - 4163 B ( Latest firmaware installed)

Then , copied ISO off my Hitman DVD (works perfectly) to hard drive using DVD Decryptor. (Read at 16x?? is this the problem)

Then , put in fresh VERBATIM DVD ( for the 3rd time) , set it to burn at 2x (also tried 4 x and 1x ) , it goes fine , then it always bombs somewhere in the process with:

    I/O Error

    Device: skdhfsjdfkds ( DVD Drive)

    SCSIStatus: 0 x 20
    Interpretation: Check condition

I have also tried Nero 6 , and I get " communication error"!!

PLEASE can some of the experts here help me out.... I am really desperate :((((

i had this problem not long ago myself, i found that unplugging and re-plugging the drive works, but also i think it might just be overheating. is there enough airflow to your computer?

    Hi Mickeyps,
It looks like you have a hardware problem, either the drive or the cable.
And the suggested fixes are: (these are from a link i have describing the exact error code and suggested fixes)
Here is where i got that:
    http://www.cdr-zone.com/articles/atapi_error_codes_page_1.html

Most of the time either the drive went bad, or its cable got broken, or a pin bent/miskeyed. If it just happened out of the blue, with no parts swaping on your part, i would guess the drive itself went bad. They do wear out after a while.
I would also update my version of nero, and you should edit out your serial numbers from your post as someone will steal your copy of nero, and you wont be able to update. Its right at the first of your log and starts with IA25- . To edit your post, just click on the pencil and paper symbol by your own post and it will take you to the edit page. Just delete or XXXX over the numbers.
Nero version 6.6.0.18 was the best and most stabe version of nero. And it might fix the Generic DVD listing nero is giving you.
    Here is the nero update:
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_burning_rom/tech/?539
But just updating Nero isnt going to fix your problem. Check the cable connection at each end of the drive to see if something came loose. You could try just replacing the cable, but i suspect it's going to be the drive itself you will have to replace to fix this. Doesnt hurt to check things first though. Also 512 MB of RAM is really low for DVD ripping, and Nero is reporting you only have 238 MB of which only 81MB is available.
If you have to replace the drive, get some more memory while you are at it. If this is a laptop, heating could be a problem also as Madrox105 stated.
Its been awhile since i looked at a nero log, but you did come to my shoutbox and ask for help, so thats how i found your post. Good luck, and i will try to monitor this post if you continue having problems. The media you are using is fine, and the burn speed is low enough. The comm problem will have to be fixed before you can continue burning with any software program. Nero just does a better job of reporting the errors as the burn is going on (or trying to). :)
    **edit**
Also your firmware for the GSA drive is now up to A106
    heres the update:
    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1973
Try the firmware update and the nero update, and if you cant afford anymore memory, close down all not needed programs when burning to free up more memory. You might also try some software memory freeing program at someplace like download.com under utilities, or search for memory programs at their website search program and pick one you like.
Also DMA is OFF for the CD Rom drive
    how to turn it ON:
