when i rip a dvd onto my computer it rips it on in several files. these files are .IFO . BUP and .VOB, the dvd that i ripped on is a highlight film of my highschool football team, i would like to change the music that is played in the background. if anyone can help me i am very new to this and it would be greatly appreciated
You probably need to do two things: 1) Convert the dvd into certain formats (e.g. avi, mpeg) 2) Use a video editing program that can add/change background music to do the editing (and final burning).
There are quite a few of them around, some free, some not. You may begin by checking the software section of this board. For converting DVDs into other formats, I use ImToo DVD Ripper (not free) more often for its power and flexibility. For editing videos, I use Video Edit Magic (again not free) more often. But people around here all have their preferences.
thanks alot man i got the video edited.. its in avi format how do i burn it to dvd now? i used this TMPGENC thing but it just turned the avi into an mpg, i dont know if maybe i did it wrong or what. any help appreciated
Don't worry, you're almost there. Try the following with either the .avis or mpegs: 1) With DVDSanta: just paste the avis or mpegs and burn away! 2) With Nero: run Nero StartSmart, choose 'dvd', then 'make your own dvd video', then 'add video files', then find and paste your .avis or mpegs on the Nero window. Here you can also adjust the video settings by clicking 'more'. When you're done, click 'next' and follow the lead from there. Both Nero and DVDSanta have trial versions. Good luck!
