I don't really know a great deal about computers, and it would seem that you guys do :p

I would like to buy a scanner for scanning comic-style black and white drawings, some inked some not, into photoshop , that is basically all I need and im just wondering if a certain "type" of scanner is better than another for this task. (dpi etc).

NO. they all should work the same but go for the one thats the best dpi (within your price ranger of course). I would recommend a Canon or a HP.

I have a 99 dollar HP scanner/printer/copier, and it scans perfectly. Pretty much any brand name scanner on the market today is going to scan flawlessy. The bigger difference in price will usually reflect the time it takes a scanner to scan an image. None of them take very long these days though. I would recommend you stick to mainstream brands though, ( HP, Canon, etc.) as well.

Good luck and happy shopping. Don't spend more than you have too.
