Hi creaky. I have made all the changes you outlined but no luck. Although you say the shrink settings are wrong, they are set to the default settings. Everyone I know follows this and they do not have any of the problems I have encountered. Even when I burn discs with 2 or 3g of info I still get the problems. Even when I burn cds which don't use half the memory of a dvd I still get problems. Ever since I hooked the burner to the laptop I have experienced a 2 burn fix. Two burns then a fail 99% of the time. I have to over ride this by shutting down and restarting the computer after every second burn, but this mostly fails. Even when I burn on 2 or 4 speed the same occurs.Due to this mess, I am having to stick to a 2 discs a day routine in order to get sucess. Before I updated the firmware, discs would burn to 100% then decide to fail or succeed at the end. After the update they will fail whenever the computer sees fit. The DMA is now on, the memory is reduced, but still the same.I will post a log tomorrow as the info is on my laptop.Thanks.
